Allow a client to pay for multiple appointments in one transaction

Sometimes there are a party of four people, each with their own appointment.

One person decides to pay for everyone.

Rather than having to do four separate credit card transactions, it would be nice to be able to select all four appointments and charge the credit card once.

Not only will this make checkout faster, it will also reduce people questioning why their credit card statement has four similar charges at the same business.

Hi @NellyShak20 - Thanks for reaching out to us here on the Square Seller Community👋

At this time, the ability to check out multiple customers in a single transaction is a feature request. Although this feature isn’t currently available with Square, it’s a great idea and I can see how it would be beneficial to your business.

I’ve merged your post to the Ideate thread where other Sellers have requested this feature as well. To learn more about how feature requests work, please see this post from one of our Seller Community Moderators.

In the meantime, keep an eye out for any updates in our Seller Community. We appreciate your input! 🙂

@_Violet hi hi!
I know you updated a month ago saying this had been moved to a feature request and listed as "Open"; was there any other update for this?

This is a common feature available across other booking platforms.  It makes it extremely difficult to accurately track client appointment history and frustrating when trying to train employees on a work around as I refuse to do multiple transactions simply because Square can't update their booking platform.

Owners of Service Based Schedule Reliant Businesses Need Updates More Regularly

It’s surprising that Square markets so heavily to the beauty industry and does not have the ability to check out multiple appointments under one transaction. The reporting of information is way off for each (client) if you work around by adding services to the payee. I’ve had the same scheduling software since 2009. I had no idea this was a problem on Square Appointments until today when I decided to streamline and switch over a thousand clients to Appointments. The service provider needs to be able to track and properly check out. We may just stick with our current provider and stop the transition at this point due to the checkout issues as well as insufficient note organization and lack of ease to book multiple appointments out. We have multiple types of businesses and see how this would create issues for our other service based schedule reliant structures. Please send out an update that allows businesses to properly process payee transactions, appointment bookings, and link notes with category assignments to customers with ease. I fear there are other unknown to me issues that will force a retreat from this Appointments transition. So much of my effort will be wasted. I have been looking forward to utilizing Square’s full potential for years.  I doubt owners and contractors are taking much time to make these requests. There are likely many frustrated users.

It was my hope that when square started charging heavily for appointments, that it would get its own team and department resources and start copying the best features of the competition.  Its been...slower than I had hoped.

Every year I swear Ill switch to Vagaro...but then I dont. Best of luck to you.

This is definitely a needed feature, as many have said before - the current state of square appt checkout leads to a complete inability to maintain accurate reporting due to the 2 options being a "workaround" or multiple transactions.

Most of my staff just defaults to making a new transaction w/ the total due under "custom amount" since that's the quickest way to keep customers moving & happy.

So depending on how many services are paid by one client, each time there are at least 2 services that are completely untracked...

I run into this problem almost daily.  Would love to have a less tedious way to check out multiple people or services booked separately.

Please!!!!  We need the ability to take a single payment or multiple appointments at the Salon.  This has been a request for multiple years.  Come on team!!!!

very much needed!!!!

I work alone so this may help some of you, but not sure about teams...but I have several couples or families that come in together. A work-around that I have found for checkout is to have a profile for each family member and a profile for the family.  When booking, I schedule it with their individual profile, then the morning of their appointments I change the appointments to the family profile so they can all be checked out in one transaction.
