Accepted Payments on Square Appointments

Am I doing something wrong? Have I missed a setting somewhere? Can anyone help me fix this?

 

Right now when you book a service, the only option you see is the spot to enter your Credit Card Information. Nowhere is there an option for Apple Pay, Cash App or AfterPay nor is there an option to redeem a Square eGift Card.

I also have service item discounts set up which run thru February 29th.  They work fine if I go in and manually create an appointment through the square Appt app on my phone but they don't show up on the customer booking website, at least not prior to entering card info and clicking pay. 

 

The whole point of having an ONLINE appointment and payment system is so that the customet doesn't have to call me to schedule and pay. They are supposed to be able to do it all themselves without having to give me their card numbers.

 

Yes - I require prepayments - but does that mean that only customers with a credit or debit  card can book online? What gives with not being able to use eGift Cards through the booking system? I mean seriously??? You are going to cause me to lose a huge revenue source since much of my business will be ONLINE services! I need to be able to sell eGift Cards that can actually be REDEEMED ONLINE for my services. It's not like Online sales & services is new. It's been around for many years now so this is something that Square should be well ahead of the curve on.

 

Sorry for the rant but right now I'm extremely frustrated and I am seriously beginning to have second thoughts about choosing Square.

Thank you for making this post about the payment methods for Square Appointments. Unfortunately, at this time, gift cards are not an accepted payment type for Square Appointment bookings. I apologize for any frustration or inconvenience this may cause. I recommend posting to our Square Ideate board so other Seller's can vote on a feature like this.

I am actually planning to leave square appointments due to this soon. I read that this feature was requested at least 2 years ago and has still not been added. I also was not made aware of this when I signed up with square.
