Weโ€™ll be joined by Udo Kaja and Chloe Corleto who are Product Marketing Managers on the Hardware team. Together, they will be online to answer all your questions about Square Hardware.

Whether you are using just the Square Reader, have a full setup with Square Register, or are just starting out and unsure which hardware will suit your business needs, this will be a great chance to get your questions answered about our hardware range and share your feedback with us!   • Printers and other hardwares: Square Point of Sale is compatible with a wide variety of third-party hardware accessories. Depending on the device that youโ€™re using for your Point of Sale, youโ€™ll have different hardware options. Find your compatible hardware here.
  • Cleaning your Square Hardware: Weโ€™ve put together a FAQ for sellers on how to clean your Square Hardware, as well as using accessories like screen protectors, and styluses. 
  • Connect your Terminal to Square Point of Sale: You can now connect your Square Terminal to your Square Point of Sale and use it as a dedicated customer display and checkout device.

Sorry to hear that @storyhouseThere isnโ€™t a blue light filter option or dark mode, but you can adjust the brightness on the main display in Settings > Hardware > Main Display.

Hey @ECHCwelcome to Square and the Seller Community! At the moment, we donโ€™t have a โ€˜test modeโ€™ or demo account to test payments.

 

You can process a test ยฃ1 payment with your card and issue a refund afterwards. You will not pay any fees on fully refunded transactions and the full amount is refunded to the original payment card.

Hi, I'm also interested in purchasing your barcode scanner. Will the scanner work with the barcodes that are already printed onto books or will I need to print off Square barcodes to use the scanner? And if the scanner does work with the barcodes that are already printed on the books, will I be able to scan the barcodes to add stock to my square account without having to input stock information manually?

Hey @interestingbook, this is something I can help you with! 

 

You can enter the books' barcodes into the SKU field within Square so when you scan the item at checkout, the barcode will be recognised.

 

The ability to count and add stock by scanning the item is available with Square for Retail Plus. You can find out more about it here.
