Fulfillment from multiple locations

Hello, we have 2 brick and motor stores that use Square POS and a website with Square Online. We are looking for solutions on being able to sell our products from both stores online. Currently, Square only allows us to select 1 location to ship from but we have another location that carry the same items. So when items sell out at the 1st location customers assume we are completely sold out but we have another location that has a full inventory of those same items. We miss out on a lot of online sales because of this.

Currently, we are manually transferring the items on the dashboard from the second location to the first so we don't miss out on sales. We are monitoring inventory changes on an excel sheet which creates a lot of manual work for our team as they are having to send screenshot of the orders to the other location to fulfill, unable to provide accurate reporting, and adjusting inventory when they are sold in store.

Has anyone is the retail realm found a solution to this?

We'd love to see Square implement a process that allows us to show the total quantities from all locations online and sends the orders to the location that have the items available to ship. Our stores generate 7 figures a year and Square has not been able to provide any customization for high volume retailers. We hope we are not the only ones running into this issue.

Actually you can sell from both... I think this only works if you are Square for Retail subscriber, but I can be wrong.  We too have 2 B&M stores, here is what you do...

At the Checkout screen there are three dots above the Checkout Just above, not the very top.  Click on it and select pick up or Ship. Choose the location to fulfill from.  This way you can select the items you do not have in one store and deplete the items in the other for accuracy.  You are essentially creating an order but its ok, because technically you are ordering from a different location.  Customer still pays at the register.

If you are working your orders via online through your online store, unfortunately there is only one location you can fulfil from and depletes that locations inventory only.  What we do if we are out of one location and pull from another....

Go to items select actions and transfer stock from one location to the other.

And it shows total quantity at the checkout register at that other location as well...

We've used the POS feature a times at the stores but a huge chunk of our sales is done through Square Online. Thats where we are running into issues not at the store level.

Thanks for the info. We are using Square for Retail. We are specifically looking for a workaround or solution for selling Online. As mentioned, that is what we are doing. Transferring the stock but its causing a lot of manual work for the team given that we have a high volume of transactions.

@RMLATL

Unfortunately, Square Online's shipping feature only allows inventory selection from a single location. As far as I know, there is no workaround for this limitation. We are facing a similar challenge with managing inventory across four brick-and-mortar locations.

The only solution is to create separate Square Online websites for each location. However, this can increase the workload, especially when making updates such as adding new information or images through the website editor.
