3 Ways to Keep Cool at Outdoor Events in Summer ☀️
This week is National Farmers Market Week and so selling in these final days of summer is top of mind for the Square Community.
If you work outdoors or if have employees who work outside check out these ways to keep cool - and share your tips!
- Buy a fan: Invest in a small, portable fan. There are many affordable fans available from your local small business - some you can charge up or use with batteries. Some also have ‘legs’ so you can attach them to the edge of a table for example to save space at your booth. 🌥️
- Shade: If you will be helping customers outdoors in the sun, provide shade for yourself and for your customers. Not ready to invest in a tent for your table - try to remember to wear a hat. For more sun safety tips check out the CDC’s website. 👒
- Hydrate: Water and snack on fruit/veg, which also has high water content. Pass the watermelon, please. 😎
ICYMI Check out this Town Square post about How to Sell Products at Outdoor Festivals and Events - including great tips to set up your booth.
Do you regularly sell at a farmers market, or summer fairs? What are some ways you keep cool?

When we were stationed in Arizona, whenever we did outside events, we used a portable ac/fan in the warmer months and portable heaters in the cooler months.

Thank you! Did you have to bring a generator of some kind or were they chargeable?

When our AC unit was being replaced I ordered neck fans off of amazon. Highly recommend them in the heat. They're adjustable and light weight. When I was in the restaurant business our kitchen staff/bartenders would use them and we had a charging station set up so that way a few would always been ready to go.

They're not too expensive and will help tremendously when outside.
Please Require Customers to pick time/date at checkout for Square online. Thanks!
