Re: End Drawer Report Nightmare CORRECTION/EDIT not possible???? - Status changed to: Not currently planned

Hi @Itsthattime  - Thanks for reaching out to us here on the Square Seller Community👋

I went ahead and merged your post to an existing thread where other Square Sellers have discussed this as well. We merge duplicate conversations together to keep like comments in one place, and to make it easier for others to find the thread in the future.

Unfortunately, this is not a feature our Product Team currently has planned. I’ve shared your feature request with our Product Team, as they are constantly improving our products based on feedback like this. To learn more about how feature requests work, please see this post from one of our Seller Community Moderators.

In the meantime, keep an eye out for any updates in our Seller Community. We appreciate your input! 🙂

Perhaps we could have a feature that only allows an administrator to make changes to the closed drawer so a user cannot just make random adjustments. Curtis Baker

I opened the cash drawer and after running most of the day, I've discovered I entered the wrong amount at opening. I've done paid ins and outs for the day. Now my drawer is a mess and I'm going to be so far off at closing time, I'll never figure it out. Is there a simple way to edit the opening amout? Also, can a paid in or paid out be edited/deleted? I can't find a way to do this and it seems pretty basic that a manager should be able to make such a simple change.

I don't think you can edit the starting money while it is open.  I'm not sure on editing Paid In/Paid Out, but I could see why you couldn't because that would be an easy way to steal cash.  If you entered too much Paid Out you could enter a correspoding Paid IN to correct it.

We don't use cash management normally and I don't have my iPad with me to verify, sorry.

@Macrule Once you start your Cash Drawer Report, there isn't a way to edit the actual starting amount.

You cannot edit or delete Paid In/Paid Out amounts once they've been recorded either.

This all ties back to the fact that once an activity that is based around a recorded payment is completed, you cannot edit or delete this action from your reports.

The workaround that @VanKalkerFarms suggests below is the only solution that I was able to come up with as well, however I can see how (with restricted access of course) this ability to edit Cash Drawer amounts could come in handy.

I'll pass this along and hopefully we come up with something that helps out in the future!

We just started with our new cash drawer recently. We do not have paper reciepts so have to manually open close the drawer, but we accidentally didnt account for the $100 we left in the register after close and so our drawer is off, but really its not. As an owner / admin should we not be able to correct that kind of mistake?

Thanks

@GroveandBaker I agree you should have some sort of ability to correct this type of mistake. This is something I'll be passing along to our Product Team most definitely.

I 2nd the request to be able to edit/update closed drawers.

@VCB  - Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback. We'll be sure to pass it along. 🙂

I 3rd that request☺️

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone knows how to edit a cash drawer at the end of the day if an employee has entered an incorrect amount?

Thanks!

Kristen

No, there isn't away to change it.  If it was done today and you haven't closed the drawer I would enter the closing cash minus or plus the error so it shows a correct over and short for the day.  If this was done another day and you have already closed the drawer there isn't anything you can do.
