How do I link an invoice to an appointment?

A client scheduled an appointment so I created an invoice from the Invoices tab. Their payment went thru, but the appointment on my calendar did not record it. When I manually recorded the payment, a new transaction was created. Now my transaction records are off. Is there a way to apply an invoice to an appointment(s) post-payment and/or link an invoice to an appointment pre-payment?

Hi,

 

In the Appointments workflow there is a function that allows you to turn on payment settings. If this is turned on, your customer should be able to add their payment details upon booking the service. They won't need to be invoiced.

On my iPhone app, I tap Review and Check Out, then Charge, there is no option for "Invoice," as your instructions state. I keep all my apps on the iPhone up-to-date.

From the Square app on my phone, I can click on a prior appointment and create an invoice. Am I able to do the same thing via web? If so, I'm missing the option! Show me your ways! 🙂

Is there a way to link an appointment to an invoice? 

I know this has been asked about a year ago,  is there and has there been any change. 

it would be nice to be able to do on the spot payment from the appointment screen,  but also show up with an invoice number so it correlates.

I can confirm that currently the ability to create an invoice via web based appointments is a feature request.

 

We definitely see how it could benefit your business model. Our teams are constantly looking through our seller's feedback to make necessary improvements, and we will be sure to let you know if anything ever changes or if new updates are released. 

It is double work for me right now. I have to do both. I own a bakery and they have to make a deposit on the cake by invoice, then we book the appointment and then they pay the balance at pick up from the appointment.

I've moved your post over to this thread where someone else asked a similar question and @isabelle provided a thorough response in her Best Answer. If you're using an iOS device, you are able to send an invoice from an appointment. However, it's not possible to convert an appointment into an invoice, or to generate an appointment from an invoice - these would be considered feature requests.

Have there been any advances on this issue?  We also would like to be able to link an appt to invoices to reduce the duplicated work.  Maybe a button that is located in the appointment that says "create invoice" or "send invoice".  I see where there is a "take payment" button, but that doesn't work for us since most of our clients pay via CC by using the invoice links they are sent.  They are not done in person or over the phone.  Can this be done and if so, when could I expect a change?
