Feature Request: Schedule classes + group sessions + multiple clients during one time slot

The title of this post has been edited from the original: Use Square Appointments to schedule classes or group sessions?

Has anyone successfully used Appointments to schedule classes taught to clients/gneeral public?  Looking for tips. Thanks!

Re: apointments

Hey @exdub-

Thanks for posting in the Seller Community.

The ability to book group sessions or an appointment for multiple people is one of our most popular feature requests. I went ahead and moved your post over to this thread to prevent duplicates.

We do not currently have an ideal workaround to suggest. Square Appointments right now isn't optimized for group classes, events, etc. For your business, I may suggest that you use our Square Online Store instead. You will be able to list items as Events, and then sell tickets to the events per person so they can select a quantity:

Let me know if this would work as a workaround for you. Cheers!

Re: Use Square Appointments to schedule classes?

We don't currently offer class or group booking with Appointments - certainly a popular request and I know how helpful it would be for you (and many others.)

For now the only workaround I can suggest would be scheduling overlapping sessions for each client in the group/appointment. However, it's only possible for you to create overlapping appointments manually on your calendar, so this isn't something your customer's could book.

Thanks for your patience while we work to expand the features in our Appointments app. We'll definitely let you if a better solution is available in the future.

I sell packages of 10 Pilates sessions.  Is there a way to track each time they have a session, other than manually?  Also, how do I show at each session that they have paid already?  I use Appointments and it requires me to add an item when they schedule, so it looks like they owe when they've pre-paid.  I'm not going to use invoices as that charges me more.

Adding my voice to the chorus of folks hoping for this feature. I quit using Square about a year ago in favor of a more comprehensive platform (appointments, classes, intake forms, online store all-in-one) but would much prefer the user interface of Square both from an admin and customer perspective. Came back to this thread to see if anything had changed. Nope. Why not?

I'm setting up this function right now, and running into the problem that everyone else is mentioning. It kind of boggles the mind that you would put this much effort into making a booking function that doesn't allow for group bookings. For many of us, we have to make a small profit on lots of people, we don't all have boutique shops that make one on one appointments feasible. Lots of other apps allow for this, but I really wanted one that is integrated into payments and website design etc.

I can't believe this thread is 5 years old and this still hasn't been addressed. Would LOVE class bookings on Square so I didn't have to use 2 different systems for my classes and giftshop!

Thank you for highlighting this feature request @mettayosemite. I understand your frustration not having this feature for Square Appointments yet. A number of different factors are considered when new features are released - learn more about how feature requests work here.

I wanted to switch our business to Square five years ago and did not because they cannot offer classes. Our spa offers services, classes, and retail and workarounds are not an option. I’m back trying square again and sooooooooo frustrated this hasn’t been fixed yet. Integration with another scheduling app is worthless because then any square loyalty or gift cards won’t work for classes or services, only products. Our POS system has all these features currently, but the software is probably fifteen years old and outdated, plus has been bought by another company that no longer provides any improvements but charges more. If square had decent scheduling I’d be moving everything over in a heartbeat. This thread seems pointless but I’ll add my vote and maybe someone somewhere will eventually listen to all these people.
