Feature Request: Schedule classes + group sessions + multiple clients during one time slot

The title of this post has been edited from the original: Use Square Appointments to schedule classes or group sessions?

 

Has anyone successfully used Appointments to schedule classes taught to clients/gneeral public?  Looking for tips. Thanks!

Thanks for posting in the Seller Community. 

 

The ability to book group sessions or an appointment for multiple people is one of our most popular feature requests. I went ahead and moved your post over to this thread to prevent duplicates.

 

We do not currently have an ideal workaround to suggest. Square Appointments right now isn't optimized for group classes, events, etc. For your business, I may suggest that you use our Square Online Store instead. You will be able to list items as Events, and then sell tickets to the events per person so they can select a quantity:

We don't currently offer class or group booking with Appointments - certainly a popular request and I know how helpful it would be for you (and many others.) 

 

For now the only workaround I can suggest would be scheduling overlapping sessions for each client in the group/appointment. However, it's only possible for you to create overlapping appointments manually on your calendar, so this isn't something your customer's could book.

Thanks for your patience while we work to expand the features in our Appointments app. We'll definitely let you if a better solution is available in the future.

Yes, please add this feature! It would enable cost savings when booking clients for group classes. Also, it would ensure that I would only accept Square for all my credit card transactions....just saying. It's worth looking into. Thanks

Thanks for following up. Square Appointments still isn't optimized for scheduled classes and group sessions, but it's a feature we're working on making available.

 

Once we have an update on this from our Appointments team, we will certainly post in this thread. Thanks for your patience. 

Absolutely ridiculous that a thread coming up on 4 years now still has nothing but non-answers and a steadily growing list of businesses requesting this functionality with zero visible effort to try and modify the Appointments function to accomodate. @Devon c'mon. We're told over and over that your team is seeing a lot of requests for this, and yet not a single tangible attempt at bridging this has appeared. That "we haven't prioritized this feature, but that's not to say we won't in the future!" over 2 years ago says enough. Just tell us the ability to utilize appointments for class and group scheduling isn't coming so we can all move on and deal with whatever garbage third-party applications will suit our individual business needs.

While I appreciate the emotional labor that went into @Devon 's very polite but ultimately unhelpful replies here, I would like to add my voice to the rising chorus of disheartened customers asking for this feature. I mirror others who have expressed frustration and surprise at how long this request has gone unanswered. Square is such a solid service in so many ways, really sets me aback to see this glaring omission lumbering on for so many years. I've subscribed to this thread and look forward to eventually celebrating this feature being shipped and being able to offer all my services through square. 🙌

I have people that want to book an appointment at the same time, but the service is unavailable for the next person after someone books it. When will this not be the case?

The problem with the group booking question is that it’s been an ongoing question for the past 4 years. When will it ever be resolved. I believe the community has been very patient with this multi million dollar company. Is there any way to show that we’ve made headway with this issue?

I get it and I understand how important this feature is for your biz. Unfortunately I don't have a shareable timeline on when group booking will become available with Appointments but please know your voice has been heard and our Product Team tries their best to prioritize everyone's needs.
