Feature Request: Create packages including multiple services via Square Appointments

The title of this post has been edited from the original: How to schedule multi packs with Square Appointments?

Hoping to find some help here.  We offer a service that clients can pay for and book appointments online. Great. The problem is that there are discounted packages if multiple treatments are purchased at one time, if this option is chosen, the client is only able to schedule one appointment as opposed to multiple separate appointments for each of the treatments they purchase.  Is there a way to make this work? Thanks in advance.

Re: Create Recurring Invoices in the Square App

Hello @coriumesthetics!

As a workaround you could use recurrning invoices with Square Appointments for a package, and view the number of invoices remaining in the series. However, you can't images to a recurring invoice series, I'm sorry!

Another workaround is to create a single service for package deals you offer but you'd need to track the number of sessions completed manually. You could ask customers to contact you directly for packages, and then schedule each session in the package deal as a separate appointment to ensure clients are charged for each session.

I'm adding your post to this thread where other sellers are interested in using Appointments to create and manage packages. We'll update the status to give you a heads up about any developments on this feature request.

As for your question about marketing by text - you might like to subscribe to this separate thread for updates!

Re: How to schedule multi packs in appointments

Yep! While we don't have a way to automatically apply discounts when customers book more than one service, you can create bundles as individual services. For example if you are a personal trainer, you can list 5 sessions at the discounted price as one appointment.

When your customer comes in for their first appointment, you then can manually book their next, or all upcoming, appointments through your Appointments Dashboard. In your client information section of Dashboard you have the ability to add notes and view past appointments so you can keep track of their remaining appointments even if the schedule one at a time!

I cannot find the answer to this question in the help guides. If I sell a 3-package service and ask for prepayment, how would my customers book their final 2 appointments? Maybe there's not a setting for this, but I'd be grateful for any workarounds people have used.

Hey @whitneyp1 - we're tracking the need for sessions/packages tracking feature on this thread I moved you to. For now, check out the workarounds provided here. Stay subscribed to get future updates if anything changes in the future.

As for the gift card bit, you can reward your customers gift cards by loading them with a 100% discount or by comping them so your books wont be screwed.

Hey @canso1-

Thanks for posting in the Seller Community.

This is currently still a feature request we are working on making available for Square Appointments.

As a workaround, you could invoice them for their appointments, and then book the appointments on their behalf after asking for preference. Alternatively, you could charge them for the prepayment using the invoice, and then just send them your Appointments booking link so they can then book the three appointments themselves. Let me know if you have any questions about this.

Thanks for the idea, Isabelle. I ended up charging the full amount for the first appointment and then making two subsequent appointments that the clients can book for free. It's an okay workaround because it's a small program. I look forward to when this feature is added.

Has there been any update to this area? I also sell a package deal, but have had to indicate we can set up additional appointments during their first visit. I would then have to return to the appointment calendar and block those times- is that correct? Allowing multiple service times to be selected for a bulk service would be a great draw for repeat customers to purchase more sessions at once for a better rate.

Hey @kjb,

No updates to provide on this at this time but if there ever is one- we'll be sure to update the thread!

@ashc,

After a client has purchased a multi-appointment package (i.e.- 4 Training sessions / Piano lessons / or similar), is there a way they can then use their 4-time-slot credit to schedule their desired appointments in Square Appointments?

@HasseyGolf This type of scheduling is considered a feature request at this time. If we have any new info or developments to share, we'll share them on this thread.

Thank you for responding. That would be great. It seems like this feature/request is a feature that many service-type businesses would benefit from. Any type of Tutor / Instructor / Coach / Massage therapist / Hair stylist / Nail salon / etc.  I know that as a Golf Instructor, 90% of my students buy multi-lesson packages (through my Square account) and they then want to block-out future lesson times for themselves that they've just paid for. As it is now, when someone buys a multi-lesson (/multi-time-slot package) my time is taken having to connect with them to coordinate schedules and 'I' have to block out their future lesson times. So I feel like I'm almost back to where I was before the Square APPOINTMENTS app when it comes to multi-time-slot packages.

My 2-cents is, (aside from my particular situation) is that the feature would allow the business owner to offer multi-products (pre-paid multi-1-Hr.-Lessons package / pre-paid multi-1-Hr.-Hair-cuts or whatever... pre-paid-1/2-Hr whatevers.... etc), the purchaser could then use the credited number of pre-paid time-slots he paid for, to then book future time-slots.

Not to state the obvious, but just thought I'd offer extra info.
