Feature Request: Add custom HTML such as hyperlinks and links to Appointment confirmation email

The title of this post has been edited from the original: Add custom HTML to Appointments email confirmations

Hello,

I'd love to include a custom hyperlink to the automatic emails that are sent out with successfully scheduled appointments, using the Appointments service offered by Square. My intention is to refer customers to a page where they can provide additional information about the events I'm offering as services.

Would including an href attribute (or something similar) do the trick or is this functionality not currently possible?

Re: Linking appointments to video conference service, such as zoom.

Hi @jarkin13 ,

For this inquiry, please contact our Appointments Team directly in order to have a specialist look into your case. Feel free to reach them via email here, or by giving them a call Monday-Friday, 6am-6pm PST - but you'll also need your customer code.  The steps to look up your code are here.

Send us a message if you need anything else.

Hey @studioa138 — welcome to the seller community! 🙌🏻

Thanks for bringing this up. While we don't have any specifics right now on when a customizable hyperlink may be available with Appointments confirmation emails, I'll be sure to flag your post with our Product Liaison team. We're always working to improve our products based on seller feedback — so please don't hesitate to share any other insight or ask any other questions here!

For now, you might consider using a service like Bitly which would allow you to shorten the URL you'd like your customers see. You could then head over to you Communications tab and add it to your "Business Accepted Appointment" notification.

CommunicationsBusiness Accepted Appointment > edit text > Save.

For example, your message could say something like: "{{business.name}} has confirmed your appointment. Please provide more information here: [add your shortened link here]"

The message would appear at the top of your client's confirmation email and they'll be able to easily click the link for next steps:

I know this isn't perfect, but I hope it helps keep things nice and tidy. If any other sellers have any tips on what's worked well — feel free to chime in. 🙂

This comment was created from merging the thread "Hyperlink in Business Accepted Appointment Email?".

When clients book an appointment, we need to have a medical form on file. I would like to add a button/link "Medial Form" to the email that is sent to them when they book an appointment. The button/link would send them to our online medical form.

I found I can put the entire html link in the email but it just looks messy, I would like to have it as a button or a text link

Is this possible?

Hello @colbycampbell

I went ahead and merged your thread since a similar question was asked before. It makes the community easier to search for all members. 😀

Currently Square Appointments doesn't have the ability to insert a custom button or hyperlinked text into the automated emails. With that being said, I recommend checking out @Tom's answer above! Using shortened URL's might not be a perfect solution, but they could help bridge the gap. 🙂

Does anybody have experience integrating Square with zoom.us?

I want my clients to receive a customized zoom.us conference link after they pay for my online consultation package.

Hi @mahmoodbcan, welcome to the Seller Community and thanks for bringing this up.

I went to check on this and we do not have a partnership with zoom.us at this time. For now, you may want to touch base with their team directly or see if our App Marketplace can offer a suitable alternative.

You may also want to check out Square Connect's Stack Overflow page. It's been a great resource for our developer community, and there's already a ton of questions that have been answered there.

Hope this helps!

Is there any way to provide a video link for clients when booking an appointment or are the only options:

  1. At my business
  2. At the customer's location
  3. At both my business and the customer's location
  4. Phone only

It would be extremely benefical to be able to add a video link, since I now have to manually email the client after they book an appointment.

Hey @jarkin13

It doesn't look like that's an option on our Appointments app right now but you are in a good place to have this noted on here for a feature request. Our Product team monitors our Community for suggestions/feedback for future improvements. We will also surface it for them as well and let them know this would be beneficial for you and your business.

Keep an eye out for updates!

This is where I am right now, too.  I want it to be automated to set up appointments, link my calendar and send email with zoom link.  So far I used Zappier and it linked to calendar but no zoom link.  Will keep trying until I get it and am open to suggestions. - Amber

@ashc @jarkin13

Square Appointments is crap at the moment because its designed for physical or locations at a particular adress

I need:

5. Video conferencing and the customers location.

I need:

Eg: VideoConferencing/Remotely - creates a Zoom (and a list of common video conferencing platforms like Skype, Hangouts, FaceTime, etc) video link - I need to be able to link to my Zoom account. This type should be auomatically adding the Zoom details to the Calendar appointment.

Eg: Onsite - asks client to add their address. ( and I need to control which countries and states this is allowed in - I dont want to travel interstate or to siberia for petes sake!!!)

I cant use Square Appointments without it but I want to

I dont have physical office - we work at client premises or remotely via video/remote assistance.

The tax Invoices for the "Locations" are requiring me to create a real business name and not be able to have the option of doing: Remote appointment (via Zoom) and at Client location but only in my State and certain areas only.

Hey @Cyberkite thank you for giving us such a detailed description of what you are looking for in our Appointments Subscription and why. It really goes a long way in making our products better and helps us understand the urgency behind some feature requests.

I've shared your feedback with our development team as well. 🙂

Thanks again and please let me know if you have any other questions.
