Is there a way to change an uncategorized item to a category after the sale transaction?

I need to change an item that was sold as uncategorized to a category. How can I do that?

@ruckdmc At this time there isn't a way to go back and change or add a category to a past sale.

 

In the meantime, you can add your items to categories so that your reports will be accurate in future. After you create a category > go to the Items section of your Dashboard > click on an item > click Category to select your new category.

Our Support Team will be able to help change your merchant category code. 

Please develop this. Sometimes things come in as uncategorized and it would be helpful to fix it right there. I know I cant be the only one who wants this.

I don't have any new information on this as of right now, but if anything comes up I'll let everyone know with an update. 

 

 

This would be very helpful to be able to change and category after the sale.  Sometimes errors are made while ringing a customer up, but are discovered later.  This is nothing that will affect the customer, but would be really helpful in keeping reports accurate.   I am currently doing it by hand but then also have to update my monthly and yearly reports by hand also.  

Haven't heard a thing from Square but it stinks. If you have a Woo Commerce site and use the Square plugin, EVERY online sale comes in as uncategorized and untaxed. How this passed their QA is beyond me. I have to start considering alternatives, since manually resolving these reports becomes laborious.

The manually reporting you're having to do definitely sounds like a hassle and isn't ideal, so I can see how being able to edit these transactions would come in handy. 

 

Hopefully Woo Commerce and our Partnerships team can get together to help with this in the near future.

Definitely this is a must have, I was breaking my head trying to edit the category (from uncategorised) of a transaction and it turns out that is not a feature.  I don't see a problem by enabling this option as the customer won't be affected.  Please take in consideration this request.

Same here. Once the sale transaction is finalized, everything related to this transaction is set in stone and could not be modified. The only to reverse this is to cancel the entire transaction and start a new one
