Feature Request: Sync inventory across multiple locations

Feature Request: Sync inventory across multiple locations

The title of this post has been edited from the original: Multi-Location Inventory - All locations use same inventory

Is there a way to have multiple locations use the same inventory? We sell orders from several locations and need to track by location, but the inventory comes from the same stock. Aside from assigning a certain amount of inventory to each location, and likely having to shuffle the inventory around within square, and possibly thinking we are out and ordering more when there's plenty in the inventory of another location... Can certain items be assigned from a central inventory stock and other items be location specific?

I'm not seeing this is possible now, but is it something being considered?

I'm using Square POS, not retail. I believe retail has a more robust inventory system, but retail is just far more in general than we need.

I'll add my name to the list of people wanting this feature.  I'm also a farm, same as the ones above, and am in the exact same situation of multiple pickup/selling locations (Farmer's Markets + online) that draw from the same inventory.

I also need this feature. I have my inventory in one neighbourhood but would like to offer pick up at another location. All my items are one of a kind, so I can't just store some of my inventory at both locations.

I, too, need a feature that can use one central inventory from which both my terminal locations can pull. I manage a medical practice and we currently have two terminals; one if synced with our electronic medical records system and the other is stand alone for independent purchases. It would be ideal for both terminals to be able to pull from just one inventory so that I can track it better.

I have a similar need. I sell skincare products and candles at Farmer's Markets. Currently, my business is all pre-purchases, no on-site sales. Customers come pick up the pre-purchased items at an agreed upon location.  I would like to set up multiple pick-up locations, but the inventory for all these locations comes from one pool. It would be great if at the end of the check out process the customer could choose the pick up location. Each pick-up location would need to have its own attributes similar to different storefronts - like address, day/time of operation, etc. Also, similarly, items might be taxed differently, depending on the county of the sale.

Being able to set up a web site for pre-purchases is saving my business during this time of Covid. Now that I've started down this road, I would like to continue to offer customers the ability to pre-purchase online. Also, I can see a benefit in the future to differentiate between locations for the on-site Square card reader sales, both for inventory and sales tax purposes.

Thanks for taking the time to add your voice, and these specific examples here @NonasFarm - this level of detail is really helpful when our team is considering building out new features! Stay subscribed here to be notified when a new post is added to this thread, as will be sure to post an update when we have one

I have just spent hours/days setting up "pick up locations" and on the phone with Square representatives to find out that as I was testing our online site before going live that the inventory wouldn't carry over to the other locations!!!!  So irritated and frustrated right now.  I had great help from Square reps, but I thought I made my point of what I was trying to accomplish VERY clear!  One inventory pool w/multiple location pick up spots.  Uggghhh - now delayed in going live - AGAIN!  Looks like I am one of many frustrated with this!

I would also like to be able to have one inventory for all my pickup locations.

I am a market farmer, I grow vegetables that I sell at local farmers markets. On my website my customers are able to preorder and select pickup either at our farm or at any of the farmers markets that we attend. Splitting all my vegetable among all those locations is difficult and often leaves one location running out while another still has inventory available.

I have the same problem (we sell meat, have multiple pickup locations and on farm pickup). Has anyone found a solution outside of having inventory at all locations?

We run a farm to table business that has multiple different pickups set up but all needs to run off of one inventory (for example, we have six chuck roasts in stock on the farm but our customers can choose to pickup at a couple of different local stores, or on the farm but still selling the same six roasts).

Is there a way to pull from that one inventory? Currently having to have inventory at each site and one runs out while we actually still have the inventory in stock? Is there a better way?

Right now, this is considered a feature request, @Nlb723. I have gone ahead and moved your post over to this thread where others have asked for this same ability.
