Feature Request: Allow staff to clock in and out using a swipe card

I would like to have my employees log-in to the register using magnetic ID's they already use for access control and other purposes at our facilities. 

I understand Square's concept is to keep things simple as well as profitable with additional sales lines (e.g. Gift Cards) which are produced through a specific vendor, however, for this pupose being able to use existing formats by swiping once to collect the data from the existing ID and associate it with an employee would be a win-win towards compatability with other systems and encouraging more businesses to sign up for the payroll services by making it easier to transistion from others.

@Seth20901 This is a feature request we've heard in the past and I do appreciate how it would help. Can you share a bit more about your business (e.g. food service/restaurant/retail)? Do you have a lot of employees? Is entering a 4 digit passcode causing specific issues, e.g. employees forget theirs/it takes too long? Or are they used to using a mag stripe card from previous systems?

Any additional information you (and any other interested sellers!) will help the Point of Sale teams to understand what your business needs.

A card based login either rfid/nfc or magstripe would allow a superviser to give tempory upper level access to employees. For example a supervisor could give a card to an employee to process a return or discount that requires approval. I have found a RFID card reader that looks like it could plug into the Square Accessory hub. The square software just needs to be programed to use it. I feel paying $5 a month for employee permission wodld be well worth it if I could use a magstripe card or rfid card.  It also makes seems that you could get some nfc cards and use the Square Contactless reader to login. If this feature has been requested before why has it not been implemented? It all looks to be a matter of programming to me. In my business I personally would prefer a card login just to make sure no one else sees my passcode. In my opinion it's more sucure to use card.

Currently this is being tracked as a Feature Request. And we do not have a roadmap of when this might be a launched feature.
