Feature Request: Permanently remove images uploaded to the image gallery of my website

Feature Request: Permanently remove images uploaded to the image gallery of my website

The title of this post has been edited from the original: Removing images from my images on website editor

Is it possible to remove images that I do not plan to use on my website after having uploaded them to my images?  I have a number of images I no longer plan to use and am hoping to do a cleanup so I do not post any of these by mistake.

Thanks,

Max

Re: Feature Request: Permanently remove images uploaded to the image gallery of my website

Thank you for letting us know that we can upload as many images as we like. However this still forces us into having to filter through and micro manage images that should be or need to be removed.I hope,we hope this feature request is taken seriously. Not being able to remove images is unheard of on any site. It sounds like you're asking about the images displayed within the pop-up that appears when you go to add an image to a Photo gallery within your website editor, @allium:

If so, there is currently not a way to prevent previously uploaded photos from appearing within this pop-up box. Please let me know if this isn't quite what you were asking about!

On my web site, I accidentally uploaded an image, and it now shows in the favorites in the home page photo gallery. I know I can remove it from the shown images, and done that, but I want to remove that image from the web site permanently. How can I do that?

Hi @BY4Muse,

Thanks for posting and happy to look into this for you.

In order to make sure i'm understanding, what website builder did you use to create your site (Wix, Weebly, GoDaddy, WooCommerce etc.)? Also, can you provide the URL to your website/page? Thank you!

Please let me know by replying in this thread. I'll keep an eye out for your response.

Hi, Alex - I thought I had responded, but looks like it didn't get through - I'm using the Weebly builder

This reply was created from merging an existing thread: Feature Request: Delete photos out of your photo library

When you create a photo gallery on your online store and then hit the (+) to add photos you can view all of your previous uploads and it would be helpful if you could delete un-needed photos.

Thank for getting back to us @BY4Muse, what is your website URL?

I don't see why my URL matters. Simple question: I am using the Weebly builder (basic model), accidentally uploaded an image, and want to permanently remove that image. I haven't found a way to do that. The URL is irrelevant. Is there a way to permanently remove an image from the gallery so it will never accidentally be included on a page?

Ya that is exactly what I was asking.  Thanks

I wanted to move your post into this thread so you could see the answer provided here, @BY4Muse.

It's currently not possible to delete images that you have previously uploaded to your image gallery, so that they do not appear as shown in the screenshot above. If something changes, I'll be sure to pop in here with an update, so stay subscribed to this thread!

I’m new and setting up my shop through Weebly. This inability to delete an image is just plain wrong. It doesn’t exist anywhere else that I’m aware of.Please fix this as its not just frustrating but creates clutter. If you accidentally add one of the images you don’t want you have to undo the section and reload the correct ones, recreating your home page library.
I know this thread was started last Fall and it’s 4 months later so what’s happening with this should be important fix.Tara
