Since we cannot seem to get the actual functionality for a self service kiosk, can we at least get an update to the app, so that we do not see the menu items for things an employee does not have access too? (e.g. if the employee does not have access to reports... why does the menu item display? Seems it would make sense to remove instead of clicking on it and see the permissions error.

We have an honor system farm store & want to be able to have customers use the Square Stand for payments, gift cards, etc. even when we aren't there.  Can we do that?

Square does not currently have a self service kiosk mode.

Thanks for posting @walnutlane. @jjgard is right - we don't offer a self service Kiosk mode right now,  but you might be interested in Self-serve Ordering and QR Codes with Square Online.

Yes, you sure can do that - and there are a few ways too. We're an official Square Partner company, but basically a little tech company that helps businesses do all the stuff the famous companies are doing. 

 

Accepting Gift Cards and doing this handsfree are definitely two of the unique things we can help with.

So, you could set wet wipes with a plastic/acrylic stand next to your station (warning Customers to clean off the kiosk before and after each use) OR you could just use our new Voice-Activated Kiosks, which are totally hands-free!

We are looking for self ordering kiosk for a long time and it seems that many stores need it too. I am not sure why Square doesn't develop it. 

Sometimes Square like to focus on their main features, products and services and leaves things like Kiosks to Square Partner companies like us. 

 

We make Square-powered Kiosks and can give you your own quickly and easily.

 

1) Are you looking to have mounted Kiosks into a floor in your location or on a surface (like a counter)?

 

2) Are iPad-based Kiosks fine for you? 

 

3) How many Kiosks do you need? (and for how many locations)

Not sure if you were aware of this but there are quite a few third party companies that officially partner with Square to offer a service for self-order kiosks on the App Marketplace: https://squareup.com/us/en/app-marketplace/search?query=kiosk

We are looking for self ordering countertop kiosk with integrated Square contactless card reader and receipt printer. Anyone can recommend one for us? Thanks

 

Are there any updates regarding a self checkout feature in Square Appointments? With the ongoing pandemic, it would be safer for all if our clients were able to check out on their own phone at the completion of services. I have two barbershops that use Square Appointments and it currently requires clients to touch our screens consistently throughout the day when checking out.

 

I've searched for similar threads but haven't seen any updates since 2018 and have only seen workarounds such as the guidance access feature but that doesn't suit our needs since it still requires the clients to touch our iPad screen.
