Does Square Appointments offer double booking?

I'm a hairstylist and regularly 'power' or 'double' book my clients during haircolor services to maximize my schedule and earnings.  For example, I schedule my highlight & haircut service at 3 hours:  this gives me an hour to highlight, one hour for the client to process, and the last hour for the cut and blowdry.  During that hour of processing time, I schedule another client for a color and/or cut service.  Is this something that can be done with Square Appointments?  So far, it looks like if a client books me for a highlight & cut at noon, I'd be unavailible for any other bookings until 3pm...  I need to show availibity for a 1pm appt.

We introduced the processing time feature last year, which enables your clients to book appointments during your down time.

Kinda tricky.

 

The service duration + the block time for the service has to be less than the processing time. It gets complicated if both services have processing time. It has to puzzle together perfectly in order to work. 

 

It could also be be the calendar settings for when times can be booked. Typically we suggest setting the processing time to  According to service duration within Appts Dashboard > Settings > Calendar & Booing > Appointments are scheduled.

Hi @843Beauty - This hasn't been added as a feature yet, but we'll flag it with our Appointments Product Team again. Until then, you are able to schedule an overlapping appointment. See @Helen's post above for a work around. 

Would love to have this feature, as i did with my last 2 apps. 

@katieand Please follow up with Appointments Product Team on this - this is such a huge feature for so many of your customers. Square is leaving money on the table since 2016 by not adding this feature. In the service industry, you can accept multiple bookings in the same hour. Appointments product should offer ability for biz owner to designate how many bookings/appointments to accept per hour based on service. Customers should be able to book until that hour can no longer accommodate the number of bookings based on what the biz owners have designated.

This has to happen! its messing up my number of clients that I can see in a day and making my day much longer and sometimes run behind. If it doesn't happen soon I  will have to switch... time is money in this industy.

 

Yes .. it is such an important feature to running a book. I am also getting tired of this after 16 months with square appointments.. honestly I feel  it shouldn’t be such a big ask .. 

have you guys reached out to square to voice this.. I have to no avail ..

Thanks for elaborating exactly what you want to see in the Appointments app. That gives the product team tangible features to consider.

@ELYSIANHSV @slucio I'm sorry that this feature still isn't available! The Appointments team does read these posts and your input helps them to decide what features to build. Thanks for posting to let us know how important this feature is to your business. 

There has to be a way to get a better answer than the apointments team reads these posts. It's been years at this point and no movement on this. We have to run two separate SaaS apps just to be able to use Square to take payments and something else just to book appointments in a functional way. We're asking you to give us a tool that many appointment based businesses use and we're willing to pay for it if it's in Square appointments. How is this not a feature in this day and age?

Not having processing time is literally the only reason I don’t use your platform. I love square and would love to pay them for this feature. 

Has this feature been considered or any update on when it will be implemented and available to us stylists? I double book as well and NEED this feature. Please keep us updated! Many thanks!
