Does Square Appointments offer double booking?

I'm a hairstylist and regularly 'power' or 'double' book my clients during haircolor services to maximize my schedule and earnings.  For example, I schedule my highlight & haircut service at 3 hours:  this gives me an hour to highlight, one hour for the client to process, and the last hour for the cut and blowdry.  During that hour of processing time, I schedule another client for a color and/or cut service.  Is this something that can be done with Square Appointments?  So far, it looks like if a client books me for a highlight & cut at noon, I'd be unavailible for any other bookings until 3pm...  I need to show availibity for a 1pm appt.

We introduced the processing time feature last year, which enables your clients to book appointments during your down time.

Kinda tricky.

 

The service duration + the block time for the service has to be less than the processing time. It gets complicated if both services have processing time. It has to puzzle together perfectly in order to work. 

 

It could also be be the calendar settings for when times can be booked. Typically we suggest setting the processing time to  According to service duration within Appts Dashboard > Settings > Calendar & Booing > Appointments are scheduled.

Hi all!

I wanted to know if there are ways to change my appointment schedule daily or weekly. My schedule fluctuates every week and I need my clients to be able to book according to my schedule. I have it set it to change weekly, but it doesn’t display that way on my website. Is there a certain way it needs to be done?? Thanks in advance!

Sounds like you need to update your business setting hours under Account & Settings > Business > Locations. However, this will not update a rolling schedule which is what you're looking to do. 

 

The best route to take here is to remove your hours and just have clients see availability after selecting a service on your booking site.

We're a plant shop that's switched to doing appointments during Covid-19. We've set up processing time in the Item category for the appointments, but it seems as though the extra times do not pop up when going to actually book an appointment. Is there a step we're missing to have that working properly? Write now our appointments are 30 minutes with 10 minutes extra time for us to disinfect between and the processing time is set up as initial and final duration at 5 minutes with 20 minutes for processing time. Thanks!

Adding a prep time will show up in the length of time on the appointment, it's not a separate block on the calendar. Are you looking for the prep time to be its own box? 

 

As an example - if you have 10 mins for prep on a certain service and an appointment is set for 8-9. It will show on your calendar 8-9:10.

I was more concerned about people not being able to book during the processing time properly. I was under the impression that the processing time was supposed to let people book appointments during downtime during an appointment, but there's no option to double book at times blocked out with processing time.
