You may be looking specifically for our newly introduced Deposit Feature for Invoices. This will also allow you to create a single invoice to track multiple payments and reduce the amount of time you have to spend reconciling multiple payments (deposit, follow-up payments) to a single transaction or sale.

I currently sell things like jewelry and rocks, geodes, and crystals online. When I invoice my customers, some of them can only make a partial payment as they are on disability or have some other Financial strain. I'd like to give them an option to make payments, but can't currently do it with the way the system setup. Can anyone make any suggestions?
At least currently, Sean's suggestion to reissue the Invoice on the first page is likely the best route, @hbaril1972. Thanks for posting; we'll update here if this changes in the future!

I am a new user, and have bought the Square system for a trade show only. I am an artist who will need to take orders for custom pieces with a down payment. Not supporting such a system is a huge oversight as far as I am concerned. So my first question is since this shortcominig has been known, when can we expect an update that will support down payments?
Second is I guess for now I will have to use the discount method listed in the last post. I do not know how to create a discount though. Is there an advantage to leaving the discount at 0 and entering my 50% price (Down Payment) as opposed to applying a 50% discount? Since you have to note what is going on, does it matter?
