custom text modifiers with cost

Hi,

Working to setup my online store for selling greeting cards and want to give buyers the option to add custom text to the card for an extra fee. 

From what I have been able to see, in the square app, I can configure pre-determined item modifiers with an extra associated cost, but I can't have custom text modifiers. I was then excited to see that in the weebly site builder, I could at add a custom text modifier. Unfortunetaly, this solution is also incomplete because the custom text modifiers don't give an extra cost option... *sigh. 

are there any plans to have this functionality available in either places?

Yikes -  a conundrum indeed @CardsRus

The only workaround I can think is to use List type modifiers that give buyers a choice btw no custom message priced at $0 and another with custom message - enter below priced as such. 

Then set the same item with a Text Box modifier as well for customers who choose the custom message modifier. 

However, you run the risk of buyer choosing no custom message while still entering a custom text to bypass the price.

Thanks. That is also precisely my concern (the bypass or forgetting to select), leading to back and forth after an order is placed to clarify with clients.

Eeek, yeah - it's not our aim to put you in an uncomfy position with your customers. For the time being, I'll surface your ideas to the Product Team. Hopefully we can add a price for text box modifiers soon.

Also the feature request of Conditional Modifiers would be a great solution here too!
If and only if they select the Custom Message for an additional fee, THEN a custom text modifier appears.

I'd love to see Conditional Modifiers for so many different uses too!

Oops!  Sorry @pessosices - totally missed your post. You're right tho, conditional modifiers would be the solution here.

Hopefully the Product Team adds some layers to Ecom modifiers. I reached out to see if I could get insight. I'll be back once I get word.

Back! Got word back and unfortunately I don't see Ecom modifiers on the roadmap for next quarter but things can def change (they always do lol). 

I surfaced your ideas to the Launch Manager, so hopefully changes to modifiers are prioritized soon.
