Hi. In my quest to find a simple solution to sell a couple of items online via or little website, I discovered that I can create a DNS record for "store" and have a vistor click through. This took some time to become active, but once it did, it only works as a non ssl link. Prepending https causes a "secure connection failed" error. I must be doing something wrong, but cannot figure out what.
Here is the link
http://store.austinstereo.com/
And the SSL version:

Update: another post from a few months ago came to mind—I think it might help. Please take a look at this conversation and let me know if you still have any other questions: How do I set up a SSL for my custom domain?

Tom,
I do appreciate you getting back. We actually own a SSL cert for the domain. If I understand correctly, in order for the this to work for store.austinstereo.com, a certificate would need to be installed on Squareups servers. As this is not an option, the custom domain is not much use due to the recent changes by Google. Ironically, or maybe not so much, the redirect, which was previously working, is now broken.
If they would just restore the ability to embed items, this would solve my problem. Please restore embed capability.

Thanks for taking a look at that, @hifiguy. It sounds like we might not be able to support this kind of configuration with the current feature set in Online Store.
I'm going to run your post by a few other team members to see if we can come up with any other solutions. Appreciate your continued patience with this.

Update: after touching base with our Online Store and API teams, we don't have a specific timeline available for item embed availability. We are continuing to work on improvements for online sales—if any developments come through that may be useful for your situation, we'll be sure to circle back to this thread.
Sorry for any frustration this may cause. Please keep in touch!
