How do I track who performed services in receipts?

While Appointments enable to assign which stylist performs a service, the information is not present in the receipt that gets generated at checkout by Register.

Is there anyway that information can get captured in the receipts? Reason is that I would like to be able to automatically calculate commissions per stylist from a receipts report.

The only workaround I have found is to have our receptionist log in using the pin code of the stylist in Register... But it is rather unpractical.

I have the same need. The only way I have found is to add a modifier set with everyones name in it and no dollar amount. This will not print out on a report, however, it will print out on a receipt. I too have the same service provided by multiple vendors, this is the only way I have found to track it.  Would love to be able to print out a report detailing each vendor. Only other solution is if you only have a few items that are fulfilled by multiple people. Add the people as Items with multiple price-points for each service provided. Hope that helps. I look forward to expanded features from Square, hopefully soon.

You mentioned each employee logging in.  On that note, it would be nice to have a 4 digit code that could be added to each transaction so then the transaction is logged by employee number NOT the entire register.  If you could set it up to require the code every-time a transactions was made (WITH AN ON/OFF BUTTON) 🙂 Then you could easily track who/what goes where.  The easiest fix, of course, is simply to allow us to choose what we want on a report.  NOT what they think we want. "Transaction Details" leave a lot to be desired.

@zesas - Apologies for the delay in following up! To get going, welcome to the Seller Community - we're happy to have you!

As for your question, this is definitely a feature request we've heard in the past from other sellers. You're current method was what I suggested in another thread. I think this would be a great feature addition! I'll be sure to share your feedback with our product liaison team. You can find more details about the feature request process here

@Feedback2016 - Thanks for taking the time to suggest another workaround, as well as a suggestion for addressing this feature gap. Happy to share it as well. 👍

I do this for referrals. I set up a zero price item for each referral source and click that item when ringing up the sale. The description for the item, in my case, says "we're so pleased the xxxx xxxxx hotel referred you to us." I have one item that is a generic referral and I edit the description on that one when I ring up the sale. I use the generic one for one-off referrals. It prints on the receipt.

I do look at every receipt and send thank you notes to my referrals. But I can run reports that make it a bit more streamlined.

You could do the same thing with stylists. Set up a zero price item for each stylist, make the text say "Susan S was your stylist today."

If if you set up each stylist with a register code, even though you really only have your front desk person using the register, then your Employee Management fees could be very high.

@KatrinaKirkham

glad to see we are able to set up a $0.00 price sale item. I guess I missed that upgrade. I like what they did with invoicing as well.  There's now a customize button that has been added and allows notes modifiers fees and other additions at the time of sale.  I saw this pop up in the register for a minute but it was quickly removed.  Hope it comes back so we can customize our transactions the way we want them. A good first step with a $0.00 line item. We can now track sales staff, venders and other variables when only one person is checking everyone out at the register.  Hopefully they will add a customize button soon.  Would be great to have to have the ability to add a variable at time of purchase so we could track sales even if the item is made up on the fly.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention.

PS. I noticed a survey that was on my dashboard about invoicing. Wanted desperately to answer it, however, it disappeared before I could get to it. It seems like every-time I log in I get the same generic pop-up advertising.  On this one visit... It would be nice to get more than :30 seconds to respond to a survey.  Wish there was a location for comments and suggestions - a survey section, if you will. I think Square would get a better understanding of each aspect of their product instead of sifting through all these comments.  I honestly believe people would be more apt to voice an opinion in a private survey apposed to public posts like these. Just a thought. Thanks again.
