While the new feature where the customer can take a reward after they check out and pay is very cool, it presents some issues for us during checkout.
We have some options for free modifiers which would normally cost extra (for example, avocado), which we would normally have to add into order. Since we can't do rewards for modifiers, I have it set up to discount a certain dollar amount when they redeem (in this case, $1 off for the avocado).
Normally, the customer would have to order an avocado to redeem the $1, since we add both the scoop of avocado and the modifier beforehand, but now, they can redeem the $1 after payment, and since we call it "free avocado", they will essentially be getting $2 off, since we would still owe them the avocado on top of them getting $1 off (assuming we don't want to upset the customer).
I could probably rename the reward, but "take a dollar off" doesn't have the same impact and incentive as "free avocado."
Does anyone have any advice?

Welcome to the Community, @Jimm1 -
Appreciate you taking the time to reach out for a better solution on your discount issue.
It sounds like you have found the best workaround at the moment to fit your needs, but I am still going to get this over to our Product Team as a Feature Request.
This provides valuable insight on how our platforms can improve for our sellers.
