Adding a customer field to items for a manufacturer product number

I am trying to reorder a large number of items and my distributor can do it easily but I have to have a column in my spreadsheet for the manufacturer's item number. Currently I put this as the last thing in the item name. But there is no where that I see within Square to put the number by itself. I tried using the GTIN, but the numbers I am using are 3-5 characters typically. Is there any way to create a field for this number visible only to me? Or am I going to have to export my items and then manually add it to a column?

Welcome back to the Community. 

I was able to find that you can add a "Custom Attribute" under the item and it would only be visible to you. To get to this section, go to Items > Select an Item > Scroll down to Custom Attribute > Add your code > Select Text > Save.  I added a couple of screenshots to show you what it would look like. Ignore the code I added, I just made that as an example. 

The only issue is that this doesn't show up in the Item Library export, so you would be back to adding it manually into the spreadsheet. At this point - it would be your best option for what you're looking to accomplish. 

I can tag this as a Feature Request for our Product Team to look into.

If it doesn't add to the item export it won't help me any more than nothing. If it could be added to the export it would really be helpful. Thanks for the info.
