Not being notified on the Square App

Hi all, I have enabled notifications on the Square POS app but I have not received any notifications when a sale comes in. How do I fix this? Also, I would like to connect to the reader on 2 phones. I have to remove Square to allow the other to work. Is it possible to work with 2 phones as there are one person needs to take over sales when the other is not working. Thanks

At the moment you can view order notifications:

 

  • In-app on compatible tablets (iPads and Android) as well as Android phones. This is not an operating system level push notification, so the app needs to be open for notifications to display. A history of notifications is listed on the "Orders" tab. Note that this feature is currently unavailable on the iPhones version of the app, though we're working on it!
  • On your online Dashboard via https://squareup.com/dashboard/orders/overview
  • Via email. If you set up your email app to send system level push notifications to your phone or tablet this would be a way to get notified of new order outside of using the Square app or dashboard

 

Connecting a single card reader to 2 phones at the same time isn't possible - you'd need to buy a second reader if you wanted to take in-person card payments on two mobile devices at the same time.
