Why is the hole to the headphone port on my Ipad Air stand too small for a headphone jack to go thru

I have an Ipad Air square stand, it has an opening that accesses the headphone port on my ipad but the hole is too small in diameter to get a headphone jack thru.  Why is that? Why have  a hole there at all if its too small to use? Is there a different function to this hole other than headphones? I have a five year old that likes to watch videos while I work and we have to remove the Ipad Air before we can plug in the headphones for him.

Hey @carribatten,

Are you referring to the opening in the lower left corner of the cradle that holds the iPad in Square Stand? If so, that opening is for the security screw, which prevents the iPad from being removed. We don't have an option that allows the headset jack to be used in tandem with Square Stand at this time.
