Tips & Cash
How do we add an 18% gratuity for parties of 8 or more, before the swipe, so we can then split the bill still?

Great question! Currently, there isn't a way to add gratuity to a sale before you split the bill but when a bill is split each card will be prompted to add a tip.
You are able to create a variable priced item and name it "gratuity". To create a variable priced item, follow the same steps to create an item, but be sure to *leave the price field blank*. This allows you to enter the price of the item at checkout. The price you enter will be applied to the current transaction and won't save to your item library. Though this won't automatically calculate a percentage, it will allow you to add any amount prior to the sale.

But, will this tip that you add as an automatic gratuity show up into your taxable sales?
I am having the same problem hahaha.
I can't figure out how to add automatic gratuity without it showing as money we should have in our drawer.
Confusing lol

@AmberCoffeeGal So long as you uncheck the tax from the "Gratuity" item when you create it in your Square Dashboard, it will appear as a Non-Taxable sale.
