Stock catalog 'Not Available' ...

Hi,

So this is getting serious and also annoying now. I have spend a few days building my items catalog and the ecommerce. The process has been temperamental at the times, but now it's getting rather frustrating that all my items are displayed but 'available' and 'not available' seem to have a mind on its own and randomly switches off and on all the stock. It was fine for a couple of days and it went to 'not available' this morning. Why? How?... How do I know when this happens at any given moment of a day. How do I restore, push or trigger the switch? Surly you must understand this is a MASSIVE draw back when stock goes off the sale board and one doesn't even have a clue what and when it happened.

Note, all the items are set to visible, assigned to the point of sale online shop location and items synch is set to on.

How do I control this?

This IS NOT very good for an ecommerce, business and visitors when all can see them but no one can buy them. I must be confident it works all the time and not at the random.

Need this sorted immediately.

Hi @Paavoo - thanks for flagging this.

How do you plan to fulfil your orders? Will you offer Pickup/Delivery or Shipping?

I'd like to confirm that you have correctly set up those fulfillment preferences before making this post.

Per our public-facing resources, Troubleshoot Non-visible Items in Square Online, when items have the pickup or local delivery fulfillment methods selected, but no pickup or local delivery hours defined, items won’t be available for purchase.

It sounds like that may be what's causing the issue here - you can confirm that you have fully set those settings from your Account & Settings page, and go to Fulfilment.

If those settings are all accounted for, please run through the rest of the required settings in the linked article above and let me know if you're still having trouble.

Hello,

No, unfortunately this isn't a case. I have never had any intentions to setup any other delivery method than shipping by a courier/royal mail, at all. Simply because none of the others are relevant or something I wish to do. So it wasn't in my interest to start with. Let's drop this idea in pursuing the fault and making stock item unavailable to add to basket at the random and without a warning.

All items were configured to visible from the start. This was my priority. I understand there is a bulk edit which I have used. The stock was showing under both the catalog and online items. Synch, location, shipping method and all the rest was set up fine. On 27th Feb, I have run the first online test transaction which went on fine. But two days later and without apparent reason the stock went to 'unavailable to add'! No warning, no alert update, no major change as such.

This not only worries me but also doesn't enforce my confidence going forward to be honest. I must be aware when such event occurs. And must be able to restore stock back online asap. Otherwise like I've mentioned before, events like these grind the online shop to halt and defeats the ecommerce purpose.

Hi @Paavoo,

A fulfillment method needs to be set up for Square Online to work as expected. For example, if you applied the Shipping method to your items but did not create a shipping profile, these items won't be available for purchase on your website. There's no way to currently bypass this.

I noticed your items are now available on your website. Could you confirm that you have enabled fulfillment?

Hi,

Yes the fulfilment was set to 'Del' for all. I have managed to enable the 'add to basket' button again, this morning. I removed both my shipping and tax profiles. Bulk updated the stock- to force online items' resync. And it looked like working right away. So, I recreated vat&shipping. Made sure it was auto reassigned to all items and at the check out. Republished the site. And all seems to be working fine at that point onwards. Didn't place new test order, yet... I need to add a proper dns.
