Square For Retail: Receipt Barcode Not Scanning.
Hello all,
I am using square for retail. I have barcodes that print on the bottom of my receipts. In theory, I should be able to scan the barcode with my Zebra Symbol ls2208 and pull up the order/transaction. It works just fine when scanning my SKU's for products. I am scanning the receipts on the main screen with no avail. I'm not sure if it is my barcode scanner or my settings. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

You are using Square for Retail.... but on what device, Register, Stand, Terminal....etc. Also What is the 'Main screen'?
I am using Square for Retail with a Square Stand, and have a Zebra Scanner and just scanned a receipt I reprinted from the Checkout screen and it populated the Receipt just fine.
Do you have the Latest updates for both Your Device and for Square for Retail?
Try taking a cell phone to scan the Barcode on a Receipt, just to test that the Barcode is readable.
I use an app called Barcode Reader and Generator on my Android phone and it read the Receipt Barcode as Code 128.
Since your Scanner is working with products to checkout, the barcode on the receipt may have been damaged that made it unreadable by the scanner.
So Reprint any receipt to your receipt Printer then Scan that, this will test to make sure it is working. After time the thermal receipts can get damaged from heat in a wallet, purse etc from heat.
Try this and let me know how it went.

Thank you for your response! I ended up purchasing a different barcode scanner since my business required a wireless option. When I installed my new scanner, it worked immediately and pulled up the receipts when scanned. I'm assuming the issue was with my previous scanner. Thank you!
