Service duration work-around

Hello!

I am a IV hydration spa, where a customer comes in and gets hooked up and then rests there for about an hour-ish. When I set the service duration to an hour, it blocks out all those openings- but, when I set the service duration to 15 minutes, the customer plans their day around only being there 15 minutes. I saw there may be a change coming for this, but I couldn't find any updates.

Thanks!

Hey! Thanks for reaching out. The only work around would have the IV chairs set up as staff members so that way if you have 4 chairs and someone books one of them then 3 of them would still show as available. The only downfall is it would put you in the subscription pricing, which I'm not sure if you want or not.

Hi Ashley! That sounds reasonable, and I’m certainly not opposed to upping to a paid subscription. I think this would actually be beneficial. Two questions, could you point me in the direction on where I can learn some information on how to do this, and would each staff member need a name? Or can I do it as a time slot but not assign a name to it?

Thank you!

Let me know if this help article gets you on the right path as far as creating staff members for appointments! 🙂

Each staff member will need a name, but you can name them IV Station 1, IV Station 2, etc. Each "staff member" will have to have the same availability and then you will need to move your service duration to be 1.15 hours.

I hope this makes sense, but definitely let me know if you have any other questions.

Okay, sitting down to do this now. Question on setting my service duration to 1.15 hours though? Was hoping to have my service durations be their correct duration- which is an hour, as the customers were getting confused on planning their days.

I see where you're coming from. The reason I suggested making the appointment 1.15 hours it was to account for the 1 hour rest time they had. If that's an optional rest time, then you can make the appointment 15 min.
