I started utilizing the Schedule Shifts option this evening, and I have a question and feedback.
* Is there a way to add a split shift? I have a couple employees who leave during the day to attend college classes. They work a few hours in the morning, leave to attend classes, and return for a few hours in the afternoon.
* When you delete or add a shift, you shouldn't be redirected back to the top of the list of employees. Once a item is added or deleted, you should be returned directly back to where you were.
* Is there a way to print out the schedule to post on the wall at the store?
* Is there a way to save changes without having to publish them first?

Hello @Nu2uagain !
This scheduler is pretty slick, isn't it? I've just started using it myself in place of the Homebase app.
To add a split shift: next to the employee's name is a little down arrow chevron. Clicking on that will give you another row to add a second shift.
Adding/deleting navigation: Yeah, that is something I've ran into. Hopefully the dev team is working on that. I'd also add that I don't like that the whole screen reloads when you change something. I think an AJAX call to refresh a section of the page would be more helpful. Since this did just launch I can see the developers continuing to tweak the page.
Schedule Print: From what I can tell the only good way is to print the webpage. In Firefox, I tried highlighting the schedule grid and printing just the selection, but it gave me a blank schedule. Printing the whole page gives me everything. Printing it vertically cuts off the schedule blocks, too, so it isn't that helpful. As with the refresh, I'd assume this will be launching soon.
Saving changes: As soon as you add a shift to the schedule it is saved. You can navigate away from the page and come back to it and it'll still be there.
Hope this helps!

A few questions as we are trying to use the Square Shifts application with Square Teams after moving from Homebase
- Is there any way to block time out on the schedule for an employee so they cannot be scheduled without having them request for every day / hour off that they need? As a manager/owner we want to be able to block employees from scheduling at certain times for certain reasons but the only way to do that now is to have them request the time off (an entire day at a time).
- Is there any way for a manager to see what time people clock in and clock out on the mobile device without going to a computer screen?
- Is there a way to request only a few hours off instead of the whole day?
- Availability only allows for the same schedule each week - is there any option to have a two week rotation for availability scheduling?
- There currently is no communication feature between employees - is this being looked at for team communications?
- There currently is no way to post an Event or holiday to the schedules for each employee to be aware of - is this being looked at for team communications?
- Is anyone looking at GPS features to allow staff to clock in on the Square Teams app but only if they are within a certain distance from the business?
Thank you

I am looking for answers to some of the same questions...would love to have an app that controls many of the needed functions for employee scheduling. Id like to be able to approve/deny schedule requests, approve timecard edits and see employee punches without having to log into my Square Dashboard.
It would also be nice to be able to leave a message when denying a schedule request, hence the need for team communication.
Thanks!

Is there anyone monitoring these requests or do they just sit out here for everyone to comment on?

They just sit out here until one of the community users knows the answer and replies. Call the support number 855-700-6000.

Thank you for your patience @xgolftc. I have reviewed your questions and they are considered Feature Requests at this time.
I will make sure to pass these over to our Team app product team for their visibility and consideration when working on future updates.

I'm here to say that as someone who has used tons of different software tools over the last 20 year, it is ridiculous that you all are not even thinking about:
1 - an way to share the employee schedule to a google or apple calendar
2 - a way to have a gantt chart
Shame on you Square for promising to be an all-in-one shop for a small business but then not listening to small businesses about what features matter

This would make looking at the schedule much easier.
I would also like to have it in a weekly calendar view Sunday - Saturday and or monthly view. This daily view is difficult for me to navigate because I have to go back and see how many hours each employee has been scheduled for that week for previous days.

Hi @ehflower,
Thanks for reaching out!
There is not a way to block out certain times, this is a feature request as JJ mentioned above. I always encourage sellers to submit requests themselves. This will help our product team get visibility and track other Sellers’ interest in your request.
I just want to confirm when you say the daily view, are you referring to when you are on the Dashboard>Shifts> Workday? That section is something you would like to see updated. This would be a feature request as well.
Please let me know I can further assist. Thank you!
