Profit Margin

Hi! We are just starting up a new business selling crafting supplies. we have put in unit cost and price for sale, but our system is not showing the profit margins for our records. We have also tried to export into an excel spread sheet and we are having a hard time getting that to reflect as well. Can anyone please help us to get our reports showing the proper profit Margin?

Hello @Craftyshack thanks for your post. Are you using Square for Retail Plus? You will need that version to see that report. With Square for Retail Free, you will have access to the Item Sales report, Category Sales report, and Sales by Payment Type report. To view the COGS and Margin report, Projected Profit report, Inventory Category report, and Sales by Vendor report, you will need to have a subscription to Square for Retail Plus. Hello @Craftyshack,

Thank you for reaching out. Sorry, you are having some issues. Many times if the COGS reporting is not reflecting correctly it is because there are in fact missing unit costs. Please make sure to go back and add those units' costs through history.

To identify missing unit costs:

- Go to Items from your online Square Dashboard.

- Click Inventory Management > History.

- On the All Costs drop-down menu, select Missing Cost.

If you continue to have issues please reach out to Direct Support so we can investigate this further, since we cannot discuss account specifics through this platform. You can reach support at 1-855-700-6000 squ.re/contactsqsupport. I hope that helped in some way!
