Hi All
I am thinking about shifting away from my current online ecommerce platform over to a Squareup site, but am not finding clarity in relation to using Paypal as a payment option on checkout.
Some of the comparison sites that review Square Online mention that if Paypal is offered as a payment option, the seller will get charged Paypal's payment processing fee (naturally) but then will ALSO get charged Square's payment processing fee on top of that!
Is this correct? Does Square Online charge the shop owner payment processing fees for sales paid through Paypal???
Thanks!
Amanda

For anyone else who was interested in the answer to the question asked (does the seller also get charged Square payment processing fees when a Paypal payment is made on the square online site), the Square support team have sent me an email advising as below:
If you will use the online store to receive the payments with Paypal you will not pay the square fees since the only fee you will pay with square will be the payments directly in the square account however, you will need to pay a custom plan to be able to connect your Paypal account with your square website.

Hello @HandyItems and thanks for your question. I think Paypal is available as an online store payment method but requires an upgrade from the standard Square Online site. Check out this info for more info:

I don't have direct experience with Paypal payments this way, so I cannot comment on your question regarding double charging the customer. But Square's payment charge should not be coming out of a customer's payment, it should only be paid by the Merchant/store owner who is using Square's processing.
