Options vs Variations. Not getting option to select variation when you click on item

I have entered variations for all of my products, example for shakes I have small, medium,  and large with different prices. However, when I try ringing up an item, it automatically adds a small to the checkout side without letting me select a variation or modifier. Is there something I have done wrong or need to do different to get variations and modifiers to come up when I select an item?

Strange, definitely sounds buggy. Have you tried any basic troubleshooting so far? Sometimes, reinstalling the app or updating the OS version on your device does the trick.

I have this problem also, soda pops up and makes me select flavor, but skittles or m&m's do not, it just automatically makes them regular???  I can't seem to find a difference it the setup.

I think I figured it out.  Point of sale behavior...turn it off
