My business purchases from customers. How can I ring in a used purchase/payout from the drawer?
I buy pre-owned items from my customers (records mostly). I have already discovered that Square is not equiped to handle trade credit *YET*, and have had to utilize the gift certificate "workaround." Now, is there a way to key in negative amound in the register for when I owe a customer for their goods? If not, is there another inconvenient but usable workaround to use in the meantime as in the trade situation?

you could use e-gift cards to hold their credit in store from trade-ins. you would ring up the e-gift card sale as normal but at the end give a 100% discount on the e-gift card so it loads with its value but no money changes hands. the e-gift card will be stored connected to their account that you make in customer directory and will be emailed to their email during the receipt phase of the transaction.
