Modifiers need to pull from stock - another question from long ago that never got resolved?

I have a BBQ restaurant. I offer one meat plates and 2(+) meat plates where you can add as many meats as you want, kind of. I have a modifier that is extra meat, so if a customer wants to add a third meat option for $7 more, no problem! Except problem:

I cannot 86 brisket. Brisket is an option on our loaded fries, nachos, tacos, sandw3iches and the plate. Even if I make separate items, I would then have to manually 86 each individual item.

If I start the shift with 100 "servings" of brisket or 25 pounds of brisket, could I tell each item the amount of product they get and if we sell 100 servings or I "86 brisket," then any item containing brisket and any modifier to add brisket will all be grayed out online and at the POS?

I had the menu set up by Square, but it doesn't seem to work like that.

Also, if someone wants to add 5 extra servings of brisket to their meat plate (+ $35), how could I allow that? Thank you!

Hello @Allenbbq

Tracking inventory for modifiers is currently a Feature Request.

Although we don't have a time frame for when this feature will be ready, it is on our radar.

One work-around I can think of is creating Brisket as an item instead of a modifier. So each portion of Brisket would be 1 item, for $7. That way, you could add as many portions to your items as you'd like. It would also allow you to have better control on how many portions of brisket you sell and avoid selling when you are out... It's not ideal, because you'll have to edit your menu completely, but I believe it could work better than modifiers.

Let me know if that would work for you, thank you!
