Looking for testers for a Square <> Facebook chat order ahead product
Hi Square users,
I am part of Square's developer community and I have been working on a Facebook chat bot product that would allow you to take orders ahead via the bot platform and Square. I'm currently looking for feedback on the product, aiming to get it running in a shop so I can work out what works well and what doesn't.
If you have any interest in order ahead but don't want to pay a ton of cash for a custom app, check it out here and sign up if you have any interest: http://orderby.chat
Alternatively, I'll watch this thread and would be happy to answer any questions here.
Thanks for your time!

@nick7184 - Welcome to the Seller Community, and thanks for sharing! It sounds like you're creating an awesome tool using one of Square's APIs. ๐
I'd be happy to see if I can help find some volunteers to test things out. Would you mind sharing more details about what the ideal candidate looks like for you? Are you looking at restaurant owners mostly? What type of commitment would be entailed in testing this out for you? Is there a lot of set up? Do you have a video /screencast that you could share that might give our sellers a better idea of what you're building? Thanks!

Hey Sean,
Thanks for following up. Yes, I'm looking for any restaurant or shop owners that have a menu that's ammenable to order ahead (user orders an item then omes in a short time after to pick up). I'm assuming this will appeal mostly to coffee shops, cafes, bakeries, lunch spots, food trucks, basically anything where walk-in order and go is a large part of the business.
The setup is very easy. I will contact anyone that is interested and walk them through what is required, but i short, I'd create them an account in my system, and then they would be able to log in and authorize via Facebook and Square. A Facebook page is required, but it doesn't need to have content. Once authorized, they would simply select which menu items to expose from inside my dashboard.
I am not looking for a whole-sale commitment, just for a few merchants to offer a handful of their items via the system. I'm really looking to see how it works out for both merchants and their customers.
Hope that is enough info, thanks again!

Hi there,
Do you think this would work with auto detailing supplies? I get a few customers weekly that text me or send me direct message about items they want to pick up. They usually text from the car and want the items ready when they arrive. I like your product, just thought I would ask about items we sell. Thank you.

There's no reason it wouldn't work for your setup, I'll be in touch directly this week to chat more, thanks for the interest!

I think this would be great. We have a ton of customers find us on facebook, and this would allow us to get whatever they want together before they come into the store. We already do inventory through square, so it seems like an easy choice. We are a homebrew supply store.

That's another use-case I would have never thought of, but again, no reason it wouldn't work for you guys. If you could go to the site I linked and subscribe to our beta list, I will be in contact ASAP. Or you can hit me with your direct e-mail address here.
Thanks!

I'd be VERY interested in a platform that integrates with Square and vastly improves upon the shortcomings of the current Online Store platform.
