Is there "recurring appointment" option in Square Appointments?

I am a nail tech and most of my clients are recurring appointments. On StyleSeat I'm able to choose where they come back weekly or every 2 weeks, 3 weeks or 4 weeks and so on. Does square also have this option?

This thread has been updated to reflect the correct steps, as they have changed since an answer was originally posted here.

 

You can absolutely schedule recurring appointments using Square Appointments, right from the Calendar tab in your Square Dashboard! 

 

Follow these steps to create a set of repeating appointments:

  1. Click Create Appointment in the top right-hand corner.
  2. Enter your client's information in the Client Information section.
  3. Within the Appointment Details section, check the box next to the word Repeat. Checking this box will create a new field titled End Repeating, where you can choose for the appointment to recur for a certain number of appointments, or until a specific date.
  4. Fill in the remaining details on this screen, and click Save

Yes, you can schedule their recurring appointments from your Calendar tab in your Square Appointments Dashboard.

 

To do this:

  1. Click and drag the block of time you'd need to book.
  2. Enter your client's information, service, notes, and book a staff member.
  3. Click Repeats and set the repeating schedule. 
  4. Click Save

Just popping in to see if clients can "recur" their own appointments. I hope so. For me, the single biggest benefit of online booking is for me to NOT have to do it. Any of it.

How's the tracking coming along? Any luck? It's been nearly 4 years. Surely someone has hired a developer to create a way for clients to have the ability/option of scheduling a recurring appointment themselves when booking.

@Ayeager81 When creating an appointment from your Appointments Dashboard Calendar, you'll want to check the "Repeat" box from the Appointment Details section. 

 

You'll have the option to select "Weekly" as the frequency, and set the date to the Wednesday that the series will occur.

Ok thank you.  What about one of my clients wants to come in on the first Wednesday of each month. How would i do that?

@Ayeager81 Unfortunately you're only able to setup recurring appointments on a specific date (e.g. 1st of the month every month). Since the first Wednesday of each month could fall on different dates of the month, there isn't a way to do this automatically.

Why is there not a feature to book appointments for varying repeat options, i.e. "every 3rd Thursday of the month"?  For example, Google Calendar has that option and more. Prior to Square Appointments, I used Google Calendar for my scheduling.

 

Please give this feedback to your engineers. I have numerous clients who I see every 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th (day of the week) on an ongoing basis.

@EJ_ shared below that although clients aren't able to schedule recurring appointments, you as the merchant can set appointments to be recurring. His response with instructions for how to do this is below 👇

@katieand Thanks for asking. Yes, I would like to setup reoccuring appointments on my end for my clients. I don't allow clients to book appointments online at this time. The current feature on Appointments doesn't allow for varying scheduling options, i.e. every 3rd Thursday of the Month, etc. It creates a huge problem on the calendar (for me) with many of clients who have this arrangement. I submitted a ticket, still waiting for a response. I also use Google Calendars for other purposes and it has this "scheduling" feature which is very helpful. This should be an easy fix for Square Appointments programmers. Hope they can upgrade it soon. I've used Appointments from it's inception (2+ years ago).
