I would like to know how to setup a fee for each sale that would cover the 2.6 percent credit charge

I would like to setup a fee for each transaction that works with each item we sell, we sell services, like permit acquisition, Delivery etc. and would like the customer to pay the credit card fee.

Please read both fully and keep in mind how service charges work in your state as well as making sure you contact the credit card companies and tell them you are applying a service charge so you don't get in trouble with it later. It also looks like service charges are not permitted on debit cards.

Just make sure you go about it all right so you don't get dinged for it later.

Unfortunately,  credit card service fees are not allowed on Square for Restaurants.  I've been complaining about it to Square for a year to no avail.  No updates ever.  Just "we put in a ticket".  and, "we get that request a lot so it shouldn't be long".  It's the thing that will make me switch my POS. 😞
