Hi @Skolounge and welcome to the Seller Community. We're happy to have you! As for your question, you are correct. We currently only support the ability to have up to 7 Item Grid pages. Have you considered adding categories? This would let you store more items within the grid.

PS) If my answer solved your problem, would you mind marking it as "Best Answer"? That'll help the rest of the community find what they're looking for. If not, just write back, and I'll continue to help. Thanks!

I have a multi-merchant store.  I'd like to use each item as a different shop that is included in the store.  So I'll select that shop(item) and key the amount of the item.  Will not specific details on each item, just a shop name.  I like the grid view for this easy selection.  But I'm concerned I'll have more shops in my multi-merchant store than there are items available to show on the grid page.

And is it possible to make an item inactive that is no longer being used but still keep its history.  Just not have it show on the grid any longer.

THANKS!

@walkjane - Welcome to the Seller Community, and kudos on your first post! 👏  We're happy to have you!

As for your question, each Item Grid can hold 25 items. You can also create multiple Item Grid pages (up to 7). If you remove an item from the grid page, it will still remain in the library, but you won't see it front and center. For more details, check out this Support Center article on how to set up your item grid on a tablet. Hope this helps!

Hey @dong! Hold your finger down on one of your items or a blank space until the numbers on the bottom turn blue. You should then see a new page at the bottom. Tap on it and add an item to the new page! You can do this up to 7 pages. 😀

Hi

I have the max of 7 tabs used and over 90 items in the 7 groupings.

Someone said I can use categories to extend the number of items on a grid.

Can someone explain how?

Thanks

PS more tabs please!

Hi @Hammie,

Great question!

You can definitely create a category and add it to the grid instead of a single item. After tapping on the category, the items assigned within that category will appear in a new window which you can then use to add to a sale.

Hope this helps, and please let me know if you have any other questions by replying to this thread.

Is there a plan to utilize the iPad Pro in the future that would allow us to display more items on the screen?

If not, what about placing more items on the screen and allowing users to scroll up and down to choose the item?

Yes...this comment...

I've found that I've had to configure my library specifically to fit everything on the PoS screen.

Now that I've expanded into multiple delivery services and tapped Chowly to integrate everything. I'm having to change it all up for the customer experience and will need to figure out a better way for our employees to ring things up.

This is a serious PoS UI flaw. We should be able to configure the grid layout to the number of items we need and scrolling!!!!

+1 to this comment.

@PerksCoffee this is off topic, but curious to know if you’ve had any luck with Chowly? I’ve been in an implementation mess with them for months and just wondering if there’s any light at the end of this tunnel...

Happy to help, we have had luck with them. We've been using them for some months now for a few delivery service integrations.

It did take a few weeks for us for implementation but I suspect it was more backlog than implementation mess. Updates have been smooth. When I first created this post, I didn't realize that there IS a way to add more items to a screen. I made some modifications on my side to make the Chowly integration smoother. Can you describe what the mess is? Is it on the Square side?

We found them most useful for DoorDash & GrubHub only. The UberEats integration still requires the tablet to be powered on and in some "use" and Postmates integrates directly with Square (as we all know) so that wasn't as attractive to us.

I initially looked into Chowly because of Square integration with DoorDash. It simply would not work with Square. That and our tablets were piling up.

We were working on EZ Catering integration before COVID (we're currently not operating) but we are planning on sticking with Chowly. Hope this helps.

Our issues seem to be all related to mapping mismatches.

Our primary delivery service is a local company that uses a DataDreamers backend... some orders come thru flawlessly to our kitchen printers. Some

orders come exclusively through their standalone printer. Some orders do not come through either.

Chowly hasn’t responded on our UberEats implementation... or to much of any request I’ve made.

GrubHub orders are mapped properly, it seems...but we have inconsistencies with them printing at all. I would like to turn off the “special instructions” box to disallow notes on GrubHub (anything we can modify, has a modifier), but GH has been unable to assist me with that. We didn’t have great success with them prior to Chowly, so I’m not much holding out for Chowly to make things better. I really would like to get the DataDreamers partner linked up though. If only it behaved as well as the GH map seems to... Le sigh.

Hi there, @LTR. Thanks for your feedback and questions here. And also thank you for adding your voice here, @PerksCoffee. Your feedback goes a long way in making a more accessible and streamlined product for all of our Sellers.

I've gone ahead and merged your original post with a similar thread of Merchants asking for an expansion of the Item Grid. I will note that this thread also contains some helpful workarounds for expanding the grid, including creating up to 7 pages in lieu of scrolling.

We are conscious that there is always room for improvement on our products, especially concerning the item grid. We appreciate your patience as we work to make this feature better. In the meantime, I hope that these workarounds from other Sellers make navigation a little more easier.

Let me know if you have any questions! I am here to help.

Is it possible to have the Grid view setup different on each device?  Currently running two devices and they are sharing the same Grid. I would like each to be independent.

Hey there @jlanier

Unfortunately, the item grid syncs to all devices assigned to that particular location. Also, employees aren't able to set up their own grid.

This is great feedback that I can send this over to the Product Team for future upgrades. I see the benefit for you business and I am sure other sellers would be able to use this too.

In the Square POS app (NOT online store) we are given 7 "pages" or sections to list our products in Checkout. How do I add more 'pages' ?

I've moved your post over to this thread where @Sean suggested creating categories, if you haven't already done so. That will clear up a lot of space on your item grid pages, @lsk!
