How do I remove Square Stand (adhesive)?

Trying to remove our square stand from our bar top and we can't get it.

Any tips or tricks?  We used the adhesive mounting method as we thought it would be easier to move when the time came...

Hey,

To remove the adhesive base, you may consider using a "black stick" like this to pry it off: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B003TOFFNQ.

Once you get one side started, you should be able to push the stick in and pop the plate off the counter.

Alternatively, you might try using a paint chisel, however, we recommend you cover the chisel in thick paper to prevent scratching the surface.

If you need a replacement adhesive plate, please let me know.

I hope this helps out, but please let me know.

Certainly! I've just asked our team to reach out to you as well @Mmostudios1

In the meantime to remove the plate from a counter you need to prize it off with another tool like a paint chisel (cover it to prevent damage to your countertop!) - see page 1

Trying to remove my stand and am worried about the adhesive plate no longer sticking afterwards. Can I get a replacement if the plate no longer sticks?

Thanks

Hey, did you ever find a good way to remove the stand? I'm struggling trying to get any sort of tool under the adhesive mount without totally destroying the surface it's on!

I used a 4" wide putty knife. the end was sharp enough to allow me to get underneath the adheisve and wide enough to get it all at once.

Goodluck!

I bought a used stand with the adhesive plate already installed on the stand, but the power cord is not installed. I need to know how to remove the metal plate from the stand so I can install the power cord. Please advise. Thank you

I don't see the reply. Here is my issue. Whoever attached the metal plate to the stand used a nail instead of a screw. Any ideas how to remove the plate so I can attach the power cord? The nail is completely flush with the plate so I have no way of prying it out

@Christinamarie - Hm, wonder why they used the nail 🤔 Sounds like you might need a replacement if you're unable to pry it off without damaging the stand itself. Reach out to our Support team and they can help you look into this further.

I got excited and the first thing I did was twisted the mounting plate onto the register wihtout plugging in cables or wires. Now I can't get it off. It's thin and hard to grasp. If anyone can help i'd sure appareciate it since it's literally useless to me until it comes off.

Here is what we did for our square stand on the top of our glass reception desk. We laid down some vinyl wrap where the stand would sit, we made it match our decor so it was not an eye sore, when we needed to move the stand, all you need to do is remove the vinyl wrap and the stand comes up with no issues. You can then just trim around the base, and order a new adhesive stand, and do it all over.

What we used in the past to remove the stand from the reception desk top was fishing line (Walmart). Just saw it back and forth and eventually it will saw thru the adhesive and then you can use a rubber erraser wheel or 3M adhesive remover to remove the remaining residue that is left.

Hope this helps someone.

This reply was created from merging an existing thread: How do I remove the metal plate attached to the Square Stand from my counter? I can't get it off!

I pried the metal plate off the counter attached to the square stand 😞  Anyone

have an idea of how I can remove just the metal plate?  The video shows you have to use quite a bit

of muscle to twist it counter clockwise and I certainly can't do that holding it with

fingertips...

I need to remove the plate so I can replace the cord that has become frayed.
