How do I edit the business name on my Square account?

I have opened an LLC and need to change my name to reflect that. How to I do about changing the name?

Hi @Jenilyn1,

Thank you for your post and welcome to the Seller Community. 

You can edit your business name by visiting Account & Settings in your online Square Dashboard. Your business name is in the Locations section. If you have multiple locations, just make sure to edit the business name for each applicable location. I would also go through Account & Settings > Account > Personal Information > Edit "Business Name Field," and make any necessary changes there.

Happy to provide you with steps for updating your site title.

• Login To Square Online
• In the upper right hand corner click "edit site"
• Click on "My Business" in the title.
• Change Title to desired name.

What if it tells you , you’ve tried to change it too many times ? I haven’t though . I waited until my last day at my salon suite to try and change it to my new business name and now it’s saying I’ve reached my limit ?

Could you walk me through how you tried to change your business name on your account? Are you trying this on a computer or your phone/tablet? 

How many times has the name been changed before?

I’ve done it from my phone and computer . It’s saying that I’ve changed the name too many times . I got married in September and changed it to my new married name . Didn’t like the way it looked on text so I just changed it to my first name and then my clients liked it better with my salon name . So I did change it three times ( which is the limit ) but with as much as I pay in fees there shouldn’t be a cap on how many times I can change my name or location . 
I need it changed asap 

I opened a new business and it’s effecting my clients appointments because I’m having to reach out and tell them to disregard square text .

Hey there, @KitschnSink - 

Whenever you're looking to change your business name on your account, I would recommend doing this through the Dashboard. You will go to Account & Settings > Business Information > About My Business. 

From there you should be able to see the blue edit button to change the name. 

@Jsamp2254 I would recommend reaching out to our CS Team directly on the ability to change your name on our end since you have used up the limit of changes. Go ahead and use this information to contact them directly: 1-855-700-6000 squ.re/contactsqsupport

I found my business name under "Locations" but there is not an option to edit it. How do I change my business name?

I'm not talking about the business name, or my personal name, but the Square Account name. I used a domain as my Account name, but now I no longer own. And this account name shows up next to my business name on the website, which is very confusing, because it's a domain I no longer own, and it's not the current website domain.

I'm not sure if I'm following what you mean by this but I moved your post to an existing thread that goes over how to change your business name.

If that's not what you meant- please explain in more detail or maybe provide a screenshot of what you're trying to change so I can get a better idea. Thanks!

I ended up going to settings and under business you can add a location and make it the one that is active. I did have to update some items, as they did not transfer over.

I set up for online booking, but Square published it with my name not my business name. How do I fix?

The url it set up is wrong and does not reflect my business name. That's what I need to change. Help is appreciated.

Thanks for clarifying, @ktratc It sounds like you need to update your site address? You have an updated dashboard so the text in the guide may look a little off. 

Try navigating to the Square Online Overview page, then click Website > Site Visibility 

You should see a "customize" button next to Site Address, and you can edit your current subdomain with the last option in the popup box. 

Once you save the new settings you'll just need to re-publish for the changes to update on the live site.
