How do I adjust shipping for my Square Online site?

It's been a while since I've utilized my online store. It used to be that I could start with a flat rate shipping charge, and then add an amount per item. Ie. I used to charge $7 flat and $1 each additional item. That doesn't seem like an option anymore. It seems I can only do this by adding two more items, meaning $7 flat then $1 for one or two more items, $2 for three or four more items and so on... Not liking this if this is the only way to go now?

Thanks for posting in the Seller Community.

 

Essentially we used to have a free Square Online store that was our own, and very simplified. We did not have any upgrades available. Fast forward a couple of years, we were ready to launch a more sophisticated, complete Square Online site, so we acquired the company Weebly. For a while, we had our Square Online Store powered by Weebly, and our "old" Online Store because some of our sellers were still using it. Recently, we migrated everyone to our newest version of the Square Online site powered by Weebly. We still have a free version of our new Square Online site, but also have these upgrades available.

 

The instructions for editing shipping for your (new) Square Online site powered by Weebly are as follows:

 

  1. Log into your Square Dashboard.
  2. Select the Online icon.
  3. Go to Settings, and then select Shipping:

 

From there you'll be able to edit and adjust your settings.

I believe this should be doable for you, but I would need to clarify which Online Store setup you are using. Are you currently utilizing Square's proprietary Online Store, or are you using a Weebly based Online Store?

I believe I figured this out. I didn't know there was a difference with the online stores. I signed up for a free store a couple of years ago with square and now it's weebly, which is the same thing, no? Maybe you are referring to a paid version of the store...

Ok, a little digression here. Is there a way to make a coupon (discount) apply to only pick up orders? I had sent a promo code to locals to get a discount if they ordered for pick up only, which one customer did, but then was charged for shipping? I'm guessing she didn't realize that she had to choose the delivery method (which seams clear to me but maybe not to all?) and paid for the shipping without realizing what she had done. 

 

There must be some way to put restrictions on discounts or promos related to shipping, other than free shipping.

Although you can set up discount codes for specific items or orders over a certain amount, I'm afraid there isn't a setting that restricts discounts for pick up orders only. Love the idea though. I'm going to push your feature request to our Product Engineers to be considered going forward.

When I go to Settings > shipping there is no way to enter any shipping costs that will show and be added to customer online purchase.

Hello,

 

   I have my shipping set up but I have one item in my store that actually ships in 2 boxes.  Can I set a custom flat rate for just one item?  Thanks!

Hey @Soupy8728,

 

As mentioned above there's not a way to charge a different shipping charge per item.

 

There is one flat rate charge for every item in your Square Store.

Strange indeed. Just curious, what happens when you try to type in your company name and hit save? Do you get the same error? Try it with the option up top unchecked too. 

 

Also, checking with out Ecom Team to see if anyone else is running into the same prob!

This  answer from March no longer applies. WHERE did the Shipping settings go??? I emailed support on Tuesday and haven't gotten an answer yet. I cannot offer any special holiday shipping until this gets fixed.
