How can I receive an email notification for Gift Card sales?

How do I turn on notifications for gift card sales? I can't find that in the settings.

We have to have notifications if a sale is made! I just happened to look and saw my first e-card  had sold, but it was embarrassing to go to the customer days later to thank them.

@k9 I'm afraid there isn't a notification for eGift Cards but it's a popular request! 

In the meantime you can see your eGift Card sales in real time from your Gift Card report, available on your online Square Dashboard. eGift Card sales are included in the Transactions section of the Point of Sale app.

I was wonderfing of there was a setting that I could use that would notify me (via email) when a new gift card has been purchased. I noticed that I can go into sales and adjust the settings but was hoping that there was an auto copy could be sent to me when one is sold online - thanks!

you can check and see if there is an ITTT (If This Then That) recipe to do that for you.  https://ifttt.com/square.  I do not know of a way in Square to do it, but there are so many things the ITTT can do to send texts or alerts.

I had an issue this past week where a lady came in to use her $100 gift care her nephew had bought her, but I had NO idea, she didn't have the original email, and we were afraid it was a scam so didn't sell her the items.

Embarrassingly, we found it was purchased in Square over the weekend and we had no idea, we had to DIG through our system to even find it. 

Please set this up so we have notification of a purchase of a gift card! It threw off my QuickBooks Online, too because I hadn't added it on there, as I didn't know about it.

I see many other threads asking the same, please send notifications!

gift card sales is a line on the main default report so you can just glance at that and see.  https://squareup.com/dashboard/sales/reports/sales-summary

on the main landing page, it shows you a box that has the number of gift cards loaded in the last 30 days as another way to see sales.  https://squareup.com/dashboard/

this page will show you your newly loaded cards https://squareup.com/dashboard/sales/reports/gift-cards

I don't believe there is a way to get notified of a gift card sale currently, but with those locations above you can keep an eye on and see in a couple of seconds.

Another vote for this please!  I like to get notified whenever any sales is ever made on my website, so would really like this feature to be available for square gift cards too.  I dont sell them often, so when I do it is helpful to know so i can keep track of how many gift cards are floating around out there.

Another vote for email notifications needed when egiftcards are purchased online.  The workarounds above don't work because it just shows all gift card activations for a time period. It doesn't let you differentiate between point of sale egiftcard sales and online egiftcard sales, so you have to manually review all sales each day.  No time for that.
