How can I disable accepting manually enter custom amounts?

How do you access the team permissions to untick "manually enter custom amounts"

Hey everyone! I want to follow up and share that the ability to disable manually enter custom amounts have been rolled out to both Square Point of Sale app and Square for Restaurants (both Free and Plus)

Note: You might still see a disclaimer saying that the feature isn't available for Square for Restaurants but the team are in the process of updating this text on the Dashboard.

Almost 6 months and still no update. There's already a checkbox for it so I don't understand why it hasn't been sorted out 😞

I need to disable staff at lower levels from using Custom Amount, or like on the iPad I want to hide it.

Please, please please, can you pass this up and try to make this happen? Technically speaking, it should not be a major request as the functionality is already there for locking out staff below management level on other features.

Hey @becaf_uk, thank you for flagging this feature request to us again. We can definitely see how beneficial this feature would be to you and your business. We will be sure to post any updates on the release of this feature here, on the Seller Community, so do keep an eye out!

 

You'll still be able to track custom amounts if you are using employee log-ins on your Point of Sale. So if one of your staff members uses a custom amount at checkout, you can educate them on not using this feature. 

 

In the meantime, we have a great article that gives an overview of how feature requests work. We always want to make sure that we build the best products for our customers, hence why some features can take some time to implement.

I have the subscription and I still can't change that setting. Absolute insanity that they haven't fixed that yet.

Thanks for reaching out, @tiffanyebenson! Our team are always looking to improve our products based on feature requests from sellers like yourself. Bringing these features can take time and effort, and sometimes we may not be able to prioritise a feature. 

 

Right now, we don't have a definite timeline to share here just yet. I'll be sure to follow-up on this thread when I have more information.

Please stop lying to us all. You are not working on improving anything based on customer feedback. You continue to release expensive new facets of the software but you never finish the original platform. You launched a new interface for the terminal, but you haven't fixed any of these little bugs yet? This has been a request for at least 3 years. Get it together!

This change has been in request since around 2017 (another post).

Why can't I disable Custom Amount for staff. It's ridiculous.

I buy Square Registers instead of iPads for the ease of use and fantastic customer screen, but yet I can't disable a simple "feature" like Custom Amount!?
