Help limiting coupons

I want to limit a a $5 discount code to 1 per person per transaction on a particular item. 

For example 

Selling ITEM for $10

Coupon for $5

The coupon will only discount 1 time and not for multiple ITEMs. 

Ive tried a bunch of things but every time is discounts the entire QTY ordered instead of just 1 ITEM

At this time Square Online coupons work by discounting from the total of the sale. This is a great idea. In order to appropriately send it to our product teams we’d love it if you'd submit this request on our Ideate page for Square Online. Our team monitors these boards and we triage them to measure needs. You can search the boards to see if this has been requested before and add your use case if so!

There is an option under Discount Details which lets you select Specific Items.
