Has anyone set up a Referral Program for their clients?

Has anyone been able to intergrate a referral program or app on to thier register? 

We are a small clothing boutique and alot of my VIP clients have been a huge marketing support system. They tell thier friends and then thier friends tell friends....and so on. I would love to keep track and reward them with some sort of discount/store credit. So far Ive been trying to keep track on my own but I would love an app/program that I can use with Square or even just on the iPad/Register?

Please add our name to the list of salon businesses that desperately need a referral program. It seems that this post originated in 2016 so I am very surprised that nothing's been developed yet.

So I thought I had a good idea, and I think it still is to solve this problem. I just don't know if I want to pay for it. We are a medical spa and would also like to create a referral program for our current patients to receive 10% off their next treatment when they refer a new patient to us that receives a service. 

One way you can achieve this is using the Loyalty Program in Square. What you would need to do is create a new product item called "Referral" or "New Patient Referral" in our case. The price would be listed as free. In the Loyalty Program, you create a trigger that anytime someone purchases a "Referral" they are awarded 10 loylaty points. Then under the Loyalty Program you attribute 10 points is equal to 10% off discount that they can use and receive a code for. You can state a maximum price the reward is good for. Also you can allow patients/customers to combine their 10% discounts with every new referral they make for you. 

Only weird part is that you would have to run a sale for them for the new item "referral" for their Loyalty points to be ascribed. 

The deal breaker for me is whether or not I want to pay $25/month for this program or just use something like a paper business card, or a list. Obviously this streamlines it a bit better, and depending on your cost of service or product may be worth it. Honestly, for our medical spa, gaining even one new patient for $25 month is incredibly worth it. I may have my answer.  🙂

Simply put, I want to reward my customers for reffering friends and family. That be in points or as an egift certificate, or even a discount code. My prefference is for an egiftcard that they can use or even give to the person they reffered. Thank you for continuing to work on this!

Add me to this list of people wanting this feature! Seems like it would be so easy for square to implement.  I too am wondering why they don't have it yet. Everything else seems so intuitive with the appointments and marketing features.

If square has a referral program for ITSELF why can’t they duplicate it for us?

Can square add an affiliate app for this ASAP? There are tons of companies. I would like to add it to my receipts to link to my website and one in the store.

Pleaseeeeeeee? I would hate to have to leave square for this. This has been a topic for years. It is hindering my business to not have a way to reward my clients for talking about me.

I have a pet grooming business and I want to create a referral marketing campaign to send to my existing customers with a promotional offer if they refer a new customer to my business they and the new customer will receive a discount on their next appointment.  The new customer needs to book within a specific time period for either the existing or new customer to get the discount. I'm trying to figure out with the existing templates and campaign objective samples what one is the best template to use for this kind of offer?  Also, if the customer I send the offer to gets a unique discount code, what do you suggest I require the new customer to provide me at the time of booking their first appointment as well as at the time of checkout when the discount will be applied?  I'm trying to ensure there is a tracking process for used coupons within Square for my reporting purposes as well as to keep the promotion as simple to use as possible.

Discount codes for appointments. I need this to make a referral program for my clients and easily able to track usage. There has to be a way. I'm not gonna lie, if I get a response from Square saying they are looking into it, I'll be highly disappointed. I've read past threads with this issuing dating back almost 3 years. I'm hoping I'm just missing a step because surely it wouldn't take that long to create an update to the code when discounts are already an options for items to make it work with appointments when it appears so many people need this feature.

Please someone tell me I'm missing a stupid simple step to make it work.

I've recently had a customer come to me and ask to be an affiliate for our hand made soap and bath bomb business. I want to give her 5% of sales she refers to me, and 5% off the sales themselves for the new customers.

The best way I can see to do this right now is to give her a unique coupon code and track it manually. It's clunky, but would technically work.

Has there been any update on making an affiliate feature or link? Please add me to the list of people to notify when it happens.

Helen offers a workaround on this thread that might also help you accomplish the tracking aspect. But officially, we haven't launched anything that supports referral tracking. If we do, we'll post updates here in the Community.

Going to piggy back on this. People been asking about this for too long and they keep giving cookie cutter answers. Hopefully they eventually understand that they aren't the only ones that benefit off of referrals

All I offer are services, so I need to be able to give my clients promotional codes on their appointments (not discounts on items-that's no help to me). Any idea when this feature will be available? Or is it already available and I have somehow overlooked it?

Weebly has an automated affiliate program why cant square use this ? is there a program similar we have?

I'll add our support for this feature as well. Although it looks like we may grow old before it's developed by square! Referrals along with the ability to do packages are incredibly important features. We haven't made the choice yet to jump ship, but may be forced to do so if these features don't gain traction.

I have a referral program where the referring client gets a $20 credit toward a future purchase. I'm trying to figure out how I might use square for that...any thoughts?
