Failed Withdrawl of Pay Date Taxes

I received an email that stated "Failed withdrawal of Pay Date Taxes." Does this just mean Square was not able to make payments on my behalf because the funds wasn't present when they tried to withdrawal them?

Re: Failed Withdrawl of Pay Date Taxes

Hi @Jasmine1135 yes, that is correct. If Square Payroll is unable to successfully debit your account for taxes that are due immediately after the pay period, you’ll be responsible for paying these taxes. Square Payroll doesn't have the ability to retry some of the tax debits (ex: IRS taxes).

To make these IRS tax payments, you have two options:

  • Pay Online: Pay through EFTPS or enroll if you don’t have an account. Once enrolled, it will take five to seven business days before you receive your PIN in the mail and can schedule a payment via EFTPS. You can call[Redacted] if you have questions on how to set up EFTPS.

  • Pay by Financial Institution (Wire): If you are unable to set up EFTPS in time for a payment deadline, you can make a same day payment from your bank. Simply fill out the Same-Day Payment Worksheet and present it to the bank teller to make your payment.
