Do I need a GDPR page on my website?

Hi,

I am currently setting up my website and am almost ready to publish it. Do I need to add a page for GDPR and Privacy Policy or is that covered by Square?

Thanks in advance.

Hi @Asmani, thank you for your post! Please note that these information are only helpful guidance and should not be interpreted as legal advice. You should consult a legal expert regarding your obligation under the GDPR to provide guidance tailored to your specific circumstance.

If you are creating a Square Online site, your website also automatically includes a cookie notification banner that will ask your visitors to opt in to accept cookies.

As a Square sellers, you are data controller of all your own customers’ and employees’ personal data. This means you are responsible for understanding your responsibilities as data controller under the GDPR. Your Privacy Notice will apply to the processing of the personal data of visitors to your website and your customers.

If you are using Square with a different e-commerce partner, it would be best to reach out to the e-commerce platform for further clarification on their cookies policy.

The Information Commissioner's Office - the UK's independent authority which oversees the data privacy rights of individuals - also has a helpline for small businesses to find out more about GDPR which may be of help:
