Do I have to have a separate business account in order to use square?

I have not yet signed up for Square, but I am in the process of doing so. My problem is that I do not yet have a bank account for my business. Can I hook  my payments up to my personal account for now? I can't get a bank account until I have my business/business name licensed with the state, which could take up to 30 days. But   I am already seeing clients, and some of them would like to use their credit cards to pay. So can  I hook it up to my personal account for now and then change it to the business account once I get it?

I believe you can use whatever account you want.  I don't think Square cares so long as it's a valid account.  However, in regards to your business, you may want to look into any potential legal issues that may arrise as a result.  It's different for all types of businesses and states or cities... so best to look into it.

Hey there @kgs. 👋

@DBurns is totally right. You can link any supported checking or savings account, but will want to make sure it is the right choice for your business. You may want to consult an accountant or your local chamber of commerce for insight on what's best for you and your business.
